In a video released by the committee Wednesday, a man was shown marching toward the Capitol on January 6, 2021, while yelling theres no escape and rattling off a list of Democratic lawmakers including Ocasio-Cortez and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The same man purportedly took photos of hallways, tunnels, and staircases during a tour of the Capitol complex led by Loudermilk on January 5, 2021.
Ocasio-Cortez reacted to the video by telling reporters many members of Congress
have specifically used my name to incite violence.
Ocasio-Cortez didnt mention any specific lawmakers who she believes used her name to incite violence, but she has been the target of incendiary rhetoric in the past. Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) shared an anime video of himself killing Ocasio-Cortez last year. Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) was overheard calling her a fucking bitch in 2020, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) mocked her last year for saying she feared for her life during the Capitol riot.

They were sick, deranged, and violent.

(6,832 posts)1. Every person who entered or attempted to enter the capitol building should see prison time measured in years.
2. Persons convicted of vandalism should see decades of prison graduated to the degree of destruction.
3. Those that undertook violence against the capitol police or any other person trying to defend the building deserve life in prison.
4. Any person who fought against the defenders of the capitol building who had at some time prior sworn an oath to defend the constitution should be executed.
If this had been a mere 75 years ago, they'd all have been summarily executed already, simply on the grounds of an attempt to occupy the capitol building and interrupt the processes of the government. It was a declaration of rebellion against the authority of the constitution. If not for the capitol police, they would have thrown the nation into civil war.
They would have, of course, lost that war and probably their lives either during or immediately after, the conflict. Seems an awful waste of treasure but, if allotted equally, 75% of the loss would fall on about 100 people. That's fair and maybe the only solution to that "concentrated wealth at the top" problem.

(22,133 posts)harm to others too, Pelosi, etc. All I imagine coming from the garage pit himself, djt.
djt is an assh**e, deserves to be remembered in the trash heap of history and in jail as well, along w/ any of his thugs who knew better than to illegally try to override w/ the voters legal votes, insert their will over that of millions of legal voters. One day, the silent majority (us who voted for Pres. Biden, and others under the Democratic banner) will finally get fed up w/ all of these ongoing illegal attempts to destroy/distort/take away our legally cast votes.

A politician who speaks truth to power, is smart, attractive, and could be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

(47,496 posts)that runs through the republican party. I look at male republican politicians and I seen a bunch of frustrated teenage boys who couldn't get a date in high school. What they lacked in personality and charisma they tried to compensate for it with power and money. For those who couldn't attain power and money, they often would resort to violence.

Maybe little Johnny has learned from you that hitting people is acceptable behavior. After all, you modeled it for him.
Spare the rod and spoil the child does not work. It's been proven, over and over and over again.
We have to stop grooming little boys to kill.

They can grow up to be serial killers/rapists, militia members, corporate CEOs, or politicians. So many similarities.

(17,305 posts)has more courage than 99.99999% of Americans. There are points when many DUers don't agree with her stance on various issues, but there is no denying her passion for progressive politics. And every day she goes to work -- hell, every day she appears in public -- she knows she risks having some wingnut attempt to end her life.
I wish her well and many successes over what is hopefully a long career in Washington.

(515 posts)out of right-wing propaganda media, either radio, cable, or social media. How many times have you heard conservative political ads that say "Nancy this or Nancy that, etc." I bet not a single one of these MAGA-morons could name a single policy that she's advanced that they disagree with. All they can do is snarl and grunt and shout about her "Socialist!", "Marxist!", "Communist!". These people are brain-dead zombies.

The filthy rich want every last bit of blood and wealth from our country, and they don't care who they crush to get it. Making a liberal female a target of hate is just one more method of controlling our democracy.
