Michael Luttig and the "Independent State Legislators Theory"..

I saw an interview with Michael Lutting on PBS about a week ago and he touched on this subject with their moderator.

More or less, this theory is that the Constitution permits the state legislators to choose the electors of their state, and cannot be challenged by the Courts.

Luttig seemed to think that this is the direction that the Republican Party is headed in 2024. He said he had not yet formulated a position on it.

He will be the primary witness at today's hearing and it will be interesting to see whether or not the subject is broached?

In his PBS interview, he was fearful of what might happen with Trump and the Republican Party before Trump was ever the nominee. His fears began with the primary debates with the other 16 candidates and the autocratic direction the Party was headed.

He thought they were all a bunch of spineless cowards for not standing up to Trump and the sick ideas he was expressing in public. He saw no leadership in the Republican Party at all. They were all willing to just wait and see.
