Possible railroad strike in about 90 days- President Biden will have to step in

Earlier this year it was posted on here that the railroad unions and companies were in mediation over amending their contracts. The National Mediation Board just recently said that a resolution is not possible at this time. This starts a clock where a rail shutdown is possible in about 90 days.

Here is a link to the article-[link:https://www.railwayage.com/regulatory/nmb-starts-clock-toward-rail-shutdown/|]

The National Mediation Board (NMB) on June 14 set in motion a ticking time bomb toward an economy-jolting national railroad shutdown within 90 days, its two Democratic members agreeing with rail labor—and over the remonstrance of carriers and the NMB’s lone Republican—that a voluntary agreement to amend unionized rail worker wages, benefits and work rules is not within reach.

The next step is President Biden will have to step in and appoint a Presidential Emergency Board to investigate and make recommendations. If those recommendations are not accepted by both the unions and the companies, then Congress may have to step in as well.

It also covers airline workers and has reduced collective bargaining to a cruel joke.

There are no consequences for an employer that bargains in bad faith. Contract negotiations routinely take years and years to settle—all because the RLA essentially removes the ability of workers to strike.

This time will be no different. The unions will not be permitted to strike. The process is a sham.

The workers want fairness and don’t seem to want to negotiate down and why should they? Let the workers get the demands.

Greedy profits over a functioning economic system should be quelled like it was once before!

Put these big corporations back in their place. They get the privilege to do business in the US!

We the people built this country, while they've been greedy profiteers. We can take back our commons if they can't handle running the business efficiently!
