(40,224 posts)I don't have a charitable thought about Mike Pence, but to say that he "does not give one little shit about her" is flat out hyperbole and most certainly not true.

(21,763 posts)He certainly knew TFG wanted him to overturn the election... He certainly knew about the rally nearby... He certainly knew Grassley was ready to jump in if he could not do his job... I think if he had a shred of decency, he would not have brought his family there that day.

(5,201 posts)He put party, over his country and family.
Anyone who had any decency or care would have went to the press and said the Loser lost...end the bullshit two days after the election.
Pence didn't do that, but didn't even state publicly that they were all trying to steal the election and planning a coup either.
Then didn't bother to talk until now, he's a coward like the rest of the Congress Republicans that went along with the lie and aided the coup.
They put us all at risk.

(864 posts)If they had been threatened, or he feared they'd be used for retribution against him, he might have felt they were safer with him? I've wondered about this. Remember that he didn't trust some members of the secret service (ie driver).

(10,074 posts)That would be enough to make her angry and scared. He was busy on the phone doing Trump's job for him. I dislike Pence a lot and think he is a milquetoast jackass but in this case, I think we can cut him some slack.

(10,252 posts)You can't know what he is thinking from this picture.
You have no basis for saying that. I know people who are complete jackasses to others but treat their family like gold.

(21,763 posts)It was Pence that knowingly brought his family into what he knew could be a violent situation. I think he is a POS for doing so and agree with his daughter's anger.

(14,061 posts)It got extremely violent extremely quickly after the rally, which I doubt they knew the full details of when it was happening.
I dont know what the OP has on Pence to believe Pence doesnt give a shit about his family. Just being a part of Trumpworld isnt enough evidence for me.

(16,829 posts)Do you know something about this father-daughter relationship?
Ohio Joe
(21,763 posts)It is based on what I know of Pence and what he knew that day. It is simply my opinion.

(14,061 posts)I seem to recall him later saying that she told him she can never set foot in the Capitol again.
So would you say the same about Raskin?
Sometimes the partisanship needs to step back a little.
Ohio Joe
(21,763 posts)Do you thin Raskin knew what Pence did that day... Do you think Raskin had knowledge that there could be violence? I do not think he did but I do think Pence was very aware there could be violence. I see a big difference there.

Groundless assertions ...

(14,061 posts)The reason they came with me that Wednesday, Jan. 6, was because they wanted to be together with me in the middle of a devastating week for our family," he said.
They asked him, he recounted, whether it would be safe to attend, given that then-President Donald Trump was calling on his supporters to protest in Washington.
"I told them of course it should be safe. This is the capital."
After delivering a speech on the floor that day, Raskin's daughter and son-in-law returned to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer's office.
"By the time we learned about [the breach], it was too late. I couldn't get out there to be with him in that office, and all around me people were calling their wives and their husbands, their loved ones, to say goodbye," Raskin described.
Very reasonable assumptions. The Pences probably felt the same.

(698 posts)Calling the rioters special people who he loves. Not one mention or call to Pence and his daughter about their safety. I hope she remembers this moment for the rest of her life. Turning point for her if she wasn't already there.
