Would you rather face Trump or Desantis in 2024?

I know, it's like asking whether you'd rather be hit by an asteroid or comet, but it seems pretty clear the Republicans will nominate one of these two. If I had to choose, I'd probably choose Desantis just because I don't think I can deal with another campaign of hearing that blathering moron Trump talk.

But it doesn’t matter what we want. My guess is DeSantis will be the MAGA heir. I think the transition is already happening. DeSantis’ recent attack on handicapped children will be very popular among a group of people who exist only to see marginalized groups bullied and “put in their place.” The bullying of the Special Olympics was intended as a dog whistle to them.

I also think he may intimidate Trump on some level.

Drumpf is dumber, much more incompetent, older and in far worse health.

I think one reason people like Trump is the stupid show of it all.

Ron DeSantis. Democrats need to jump on this now and start framing the issue. He really isn’t someone you’d want to have a beer with. He’s a know it all. He’s always surly. Do we really want that?

He has lost the popular vote in two presidential elections. And since January 6, 2021, he has lost about 15 to 20% of potential republican voters. He would pose less of a challenge in 2024, in my opinion.

And that’s a hard pill to swallow knowing how vindictive he is.

Trump must absolutely never never ever be allowed to hold public office again, period. If he got into the White House again it would be nothing but a massive purge and a score settling against his enemies, either real or perceived.
