Something seems amiss

The more we learn about January 6th and just how much of a worst case scenario it was, something doesn’t make sense to me. Trump almost had potentially all of congress murdered. His friends and enemies alike. They all know they were in serious, historical danger but after a week, the Republicans in the House and Senate stopped caring. We can assume they are spineless and power hungry, some are even guilty as being accessories but still, they know they almost died; beaten to death by an angry mob while their deranged leader had an insane plan to start a dictatorship and almost certainly a civil war in America. But after a few days, they stopped caring? They know, despite their public indifference, how bad it actually was. They were there. And why don’t the Democrats seem all that outraged?

Why would the Republican leadership forgive so easily after what they know happened? What if they didn’t? How was it the Democrats got the exact kind of investigation they wanted? McCarthy tried to appoint unacceptable people and then Pelosi was free to have a real, cooperative, unbiased committee. There’s never going to be enough votes for a 9/11 style commission so she got the next best thing. So easily?

And Liz Cheney, the #3 House Republican is suddenly persona non grata in the GOP, after decades of accumulating power. Someone who has national name recognition as a prototypical hardcore Republican is just out? With no protest? None? And she just happens to join the committee? A member of House Republican leadership at the time of the attack?

What if more people are taking the threat of Trump more seriously than they are letting on? What if January 6th was the closest doomsday scenario our country has ever seen and people who seem like they quickly forgave and forgot for some campaign cash actually didn’t.

As I said in my title, something seems amiss to me. What if it’s not as business as usual in Washington as it might seem?

actually taking the threat more seriously behind the scenes and making it easier for the Dems to investigate, no chance in hell that is happening.

Cons are spineless and defer to traitor trump on everything. Many of them would like him to disappear but NONE of them other than the two we know of are willing to do anything against him.

Like Lindsey Graham they are all more than willing to end America, end democracy and install a dictator if they can have power in that fascist dictatorship.

Which some of us have been SCREAMING About for YEARS, and finally everybody is seeing the danger we have been in for a long fucking time.

They know that, without a doubt, that Trump would kill any of them if it made his life even marginally easier. They’ve seen that first hand. They know long term they realistically can’t get any benefit to working with or for Trump. So why do it? I know they are spineless but are they really that spineless?

And again, why aren’t the Democrats all that upset about the GOP about face in the days after January 6th. Besides some annoyed sounding grumbles, nothing. They stopped caring too? Their anger at the GOP for not helping them root out a fascist nut job who tried to kill them all seems quite minimal, all things considered

They have the tiniest of margins and the Republican stranglehold in the Senate hobbles them further.

They prosecuted two impeachments - and now running this.

And face probable loss in the midterms.

I believe that they are focused on the goal. And not wasting time battling the bizarre republicans.

Democrats dont know how to respond to in your face treason and insurrection because it didnt seem possible it could ever happen.

My criticism now is WE ALL have to be YELLING about this NOW, and high profile dems need to be in front of ANY camera or reporter YELLING about the END of our democracy if people dont WAKE THE FUCK UP and use the F word, use it on Meet THe Press, get something going viral by being EXTREME!

ONE HUNDRED MILLION people who could have voted 2020 did not, they saw NO REASON TO holy FUCK think about that!

Those same people MUST vote this team or we are doomed and we wont have to wait to 2024, it will be over in November.

The people who need to know what is going on dont watch TV, they dont even own one!

They never thought something would happen to them on Jan 6.

After all, even now they are getting away with sedition.

Why would they expect their fellow seditionists would attack them then?

I wouldn’t say the entire House GOP is in on something to destroy Trump. Many, many are 100% psycho MAGA. But those with actual power and experience? They are all 100% self sacrificing fascist robots? Every. Single. One?

Yeah, I know the source is not favored here, but here's an excerpt. I also found the same info on another site. So far, all I've seen pertains to a Facebook post:

Conspiracy charges filed shortly after the riot showed a group of three Oath Keepers were particularly interested in lawmakers' movements in the tunnels underneath the Capitol complex, and one of them, Thomas Edward Caldwell, allegedly received a Facebook message about them.

“All members are in the tunnels under capital seal them in," reads the message. "Turn on gas."

As to who posted the Facebook message, I haven't seen evidence of any follow-up to determine their identity, but hopefully that follow-up was done.

to remove him from power because that would upset the base. What better way to neutralize tfg than to have the Democrats take him down? That way, the base would blame the Dems and not the Repubs.

...their goal has been a total takeover. You may recall Karl Rove salivating over the prospect, prematurely, as it turned out.

We're in the Endgame of William F. Buckley's wildest wet dreams.

The Right has the backing of dozens of billionaires and multi-millionaires who are perfectly fine with a dictatorship or banana republic as long as it gives them less regulation and lower taxes.

My best guess.
