George Takei changes Twitter bio after Texas GOP calls homosexuality 'abnormal'

Reacting to the Texas Republican party platform declaring homosexuality “abnormal,” gay “Star Trek” actor George Takei changed the bio on his Twitter page, which has 3.4 million followers.

It now reads: “I am an abnormal lifestyle choice.”

The reference repeats verbatim what’s spelled out by Lone Star State conservatives’ 2022 Platform & Resolutions Committee unveiled over the weekend during its biennial convention in Houston. That outline also expresses opposition to “all efforts to validate transgender identity” and supports counselors who confront “unwanted same-sex attraction.”

A tweet from the gay, conservative Log Cabin Republican organization labeled the Texas Republican party’s intolerance of homosexuality “not just narrow-minded, but politically short-sighted” in the days leading up to the convention, where the platform was presented Saturday.

Whether it's speaking so eloquently, or making us smile in dark times, or even just the random "Oh myyyyy...", it's so wonderful to have George out there doing this thing.

As far as the Log Cabins... *sigh* They still don't get it. They never get it. Their party has now made it clear they want them gone - legislated out of existence, or stochastic terrorized out of existence. We're past "I'm putting aside my rights for my money." The QOP absolutely hates them and wants them gone.
