But I would tell her, and them, to consider what it means to be a black women in Georgia today, no doubt with a long family history in this country, and to carry the name "Freeman". That name was probably chosen by her not that distant ancestors to proclaim proudly what they had become after Emancipation. Free man indeed. She should be proud.
