I've been to Germany in the 70s and the 90s. There are average folks who still long for the "good old days" of Hitler and national socialism. They go into the woods, drink beer, and sing Third Reich songs, lustily. They have Third Reich/Hitler memorabilia in their homes, hidden in their cellars, under glass no less.

So there will be some diehard Trump fans for decades. They are tattooed.

We need to drive these points home to independent voters and so-called "sane" Republicans (of which there are a few, actually).

The hardcore Trumpers are beyond help. However, the hearings will help to make sure there are no new Trumpers!

2. This is an important point.

I feel hopeful that the hearings are connecting the dots and exposing the actual crimes of Trump's regime. But the GOP propaganda machine is still fully intact, Fox News is still a control of millions of Americans perceptions about reality, and the voters in their thrall are still as ignorant as they were before the hearings.

It's gratifying to see it all laid out with authority and sobriety. But it only matters if it flips votes... and it's only going to flip votes if we can wake up swing voters. Meanwhile, inflation is still hovering around 8½% and biden's support numbers are hovering down in the doldrums

The real problem is the 50% of Americans that don't even bother to vote. These people look around them and see nothing wrong, nothing worth taking the time to go to the ballot box.

These are the people we have to reach, because it is their apathy that is destroying our democracy.

But it doesn’t really matter now, most of the MAGAts I know have moved on from him, they’re all about DeSantis. They still love Piss Wig but they don’t want him to run again, he did the heavy lifting to get “real conservatism” into the mainstream.
