They were the result of 18 year old kids being able to legally purchase rifles specifically designed to kill people---AR 15s---and multiple high capacity magazines.
They will still be able to after the much-praised "gun legislation" passes---if it does.

Closing that loophole was one of the better parts of the legislation.

and in some cases, it was things that would be part of this loophole.

But any reasonable gun control is a win.
I'd like to see universal background checks, too, but most the big news mass shootings were bought with NICS background checks.
