They will accuse her of leaving the state to commit a murder and stop her on those grounds?

Detain her until she has the baby.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but this is where the red states are heading.

They want to make it a crime to leave the state for an abortion.

if she went to a state that actually cared about women's rights

this is why they are pushing for the total ban at the fed level, so they can penalize EVERYONE

But the logic seems to be this:

One state says abortion is a crime.

The state says we have evidence that you are going to leave the state to commit a crime.

We are not going to allow you to travel for the purpose of committing a crime.

We don't care if it is legal elsewhere. Here it is a crime and we won't let you cross state lines to commit a crime.

And since you are planning to murder a fetus we can hold you until the baby is born.

I think that is what the red states are trying to do.

But it hurts my brain to think like a RWNJ.

if it's age 21 to drink in one state so an 18 year old drives to another state where it's age 18 to drink, that 18yr old cannot be arrested (unless, of course, he elects to drive home drunk).

you?

I think it is more along those lines, a felony murder situation, not just underage drinking.

I read that they are planning to make it illegal to travel for an abortion. I don't know the specifics.
But I think this might be the reasoning.

The law is going to be what they say it is.

Most of us have never lived under a dictatorship, but we will soon find out what it means.

They can basically do whatever they want. If you read about fascist dictatorships around the world you will see what I mean.

We are so used to rule of law and freedom we cannot even wrap our heads around what is happening now.

I can’t think of a parallel situation that works with this example. States can’t forbid you from crossing state lines nor from doing something that is legal in the state you travel to.

why you are going there.

And it's perfectly fine to keep your top lip plastered to your bottom lip and not answer.

When it becomes an arrest-able offence for not answering, then we're in a bad way.

Something like this is just one of the million issues that the supreme court did not consider, since they "make their decisions in a vacuum".
