Collins gained her seat back by taking a strong pro-choice position and then getting Kavanaugh and Gorsuch to tell her they would not vote to overturn Roe. They lied to her directly. Does she have the integrity to do something about it or is she just going to sit there like a useless puddle and hope this blows over with voters by the time she has to worry about re-election.

Take down the filibuster. And while you're at it, draw up articles of impeachment for the two who openly lied to you.

She has also vowed to work on further legislation codifying Roe.

Obviously, we'd prefer a D in that seat, but if it has to be an R, she's one of the only relatively-moderate ones left. She at least shows occasional signs of having a conscience.

Sadly, legislation is likely going nowhere.

The Democrats can amend the Judiciary Act of 1789, which established the court. Doesn't require an amendment or a two thirds majority. If Manchin is this upset, and Sinema has always been on board with pro-choice, there's 50 votes, with the VP 51 to remove the filibuster and amend the act to allow Biden to appoint as many justices as they want to let him have.

Collins and Murkowski might or might not get on board with that but wouldn't be needed.

It's time.

Collins will wail and gnash her teeth and then vote exactly as her party tells her to vote. Murkowski will do the same but with less of a show of soul-searching.

Manchin will do a Manchin.

Those three never believed the lies.

Those three lied to you. And a thousand people here told you so while they were lying to you.

So again, before any more lies spill out of those three mouths: THEY’RE NOT FOOLS. THEY’RE LIARS. DON’T BELIEVE A GODDAM THING THEY SAY.

the whole "I was lied to" charade is a wink and a nod to the right wing and particularly the Federalist Society.

They all knew the agenda. They all voted for it, willingly, knowing that the plan is to take civil rights from a HUGE swath of the citizenry of the United States. They agree with it and support it.
