I have $1500.00 to invest.....where can I maximize the investment?
I love Act Blue, best giving platform I know of and appreciate.. I love Omaha Steve's AB account management.....but where can I see where all invested $ went and macro results? I think they could do a better jobs of providing data on political investments, given their data stream. Money spent is a powerful indicator of candidate to invest in.
I'm thinking -
Planned Parenthood ____%
DCCC....................____%
Senate...................____%
Governers............._____%
Which PACs for each and what %?
FoxNewsSucks
(10,434 posts)nothing at all for the DCCC
90% to Planned Parenthood, we're gonna need them more than ever.
The rest to an individual candidate, whether Gov, Rep or Senate. Maybe making statehouse candidates a priority.
No PACs, no establishment orgs.

(24,506 posts)So maybe I want to give to Pelosi to use as she sees fit? Same with Chuck. And what about Democratic Governorship / State Party priorities? I want to see this from Acy Blue....it ought to be easy to see where every dollar transactions
goes....the results help us make better financial decisions with our political investments.

(10,434 posts)but not Schumer. He's responsible for Senator Sinema. He funded and backed her over her liberal primary opponent. That didn't work out well at all.
That's why I'd only recommend donations to good organizations like Planned Parenthood or individual candidates. Those good candidates are often shut out by establishment money-dispensers like Majority Leaders, DCCC and its Senate equivalent.
Find good liberal Democratic candidates you'd like to see elected and support them directly. They need it, and will appreciate it.

Well, I obviously stepped in it by posting that link. It was the resources links I felt were important, so here they are

(92,242 posts)PP they believe did not do enough in Alabama and Georgia to help women get abortions, and suggest to give to independent clinics
My personal view is I dont know anything about these independent clinics. Perhaps they are an important contributing outlet, but I do know the history of PP, and I know people who volunteered for PP and helped women get access, not only to abortion, but healthcare
PP is also tax deductible. I do not know if these independent outlets are
I also do not know much about the jezebel publication
What also bothers me is they seemed less concerned about electing Democrats, and more interested in providing abortion access now for women who need an abortion, because from there perspective they cant wait. While that is a valid argument, the midterms are only five months away, and the stakes have never been higher, though in reality, it was obvious in 2016 the SC was at stake then, and that is when it really counted
FoxNewsSucks
(10,434 posts)remember their goal. It seems to be ensuring women's affairs including abortion. That doesn't mean they are an anti-Democratic group, it's just that women's rights including abortion is their stated purpose.
JohnSJ
(92,242 posts)support to women, is a misrepresentation. I know enough people who volunteer at PP, and they do provide help to women, from abortion, healthcare, and medicines

(2,113 posts)Please consider donating directly to an abortion fund as that will go towards helping women in need right now.
Donate to abortion funds and other support groups to make the biggest impact with your rage.
A first-trimester abortion from a clinic costs at least $500 before factoring in any costs like travel, hotel, or childcareand abortions only get more expensive as pregnancy progresses. Health insurance often doesnt cover abortion, and it most certainly doesnt if people have to go out of state for care. Abortion funds and other practical support organizations (groups that help arrange and pay for travel) are the safety net that helps people cover these costs, but they dont have the name recognition or fundraising power of bigger orgs who can blast out emails, texts, and digital ads. That means they get a fraction of the financial support that national groups do.

(92,242 posts)The midterms are 5 months away, and it is critical NOT to ignore the politicians to fundraise, because we need to win the Senate by at least two seats, to stop the hemorrhaging.
Soliciting donations to their cause is one thing, but actually telling people NOT to donate to PP makes me wary of them

(2,113 posts)So do I. But that doesn't negate the organizations they are pointing to and/or their need for funding to help women in need right now. There's nothing to be 'wary' of - they are a feminist website with news and commentary. They are not asking for money for themselves. They are pointing to valid, worthwhile organizations.
Edit to add: Jezebel.com has been around since 2007. Their history is easily verifiable.

(42,334 posts)into supporting Democrats who have a decent chance of flipping a seat. I'm in Florida so for me that's Charlie Crist and Val Demings. Also putting money toward Stacy Abrams and Rafael Warnock.
Planned Parenthood is going to raise a boatload of $$ now. We need to give money to Democrats who have a chance to flip seats and to keep seats.

(24,506 posts)If I am in FL, I am investing with you....and supporting GA makes a lot sense as well.
I concur - smart money for Democrats is investing in the races.

(42,334 posts)Mark Kelly in AZ is important too. I'm looking at who has lots of money now. Warnock, for example, has a big war chest so he won't get as much.
I've got a few Dems running for local slots. In my red county they don't have a chance but I'm giving them a little because this kind of representation is important. But, for example, I won't donate to the Dem running against looney tunes MT Green. Why? Because there is no chance a Democrat can win in that district. I'd love to see her out but limited funds must go to better bets.

(10,434 posts)I was on a trip to New Orleans and someone stopped me in the French Quarter to fund-raise for Planned Parenthood. I generally don't like and ignore solicitors, but she did a good job describing the good PP does. It helped that I already am inclined in that direction. I signed up for $10/month, and to this day I'm glad I did.
We need PP more than ever.

(16,248 posts)Im sure it must have been iffy..when I was very young, PP was my health care. I support them to this day. Im 75 and I still do. I met a waitress not long ago n she n her daughter rely on PP for their health care. I was pleased to know that.

(92,242 posts)donations, but to go out of their way and tell people not to donate to PP, makes me very wary about them
