I know I know, there's progressive/liberal ones and applaud their efforts, but I effectively am now an agnostic.
Been some time coming but decided now's the time, that's all I'm "gnostic" about right now.

(68,595 posts)needy families, snacks and school supplies...money for utilities. We live our faith, and I am sick of being lumped in with fake Christians. When some attack Christians who are not Trump supporters and belong to liberal churches, I find it just plain rude- and none of anyone's business...a negative post for a shitty day. And who's fault is the loss of Roe you ask...Republicans...and those who chose not to vote for Hillary...not Democrats and not Christians ( the real sort who follow Christ's teachings).

So many of us are in pain right now. But casting too a wide net is wrong.

(53,035 posts)The decision today is a political one, caused by the political forces and actors that put Trump in office. The judges who made this decision and similar decisions at state levels are part of a conservative judicial project begun decades ago by the Federalist Society. They've succeeded because they understand the power of local and state government, while, unfortunately, too many Democrats don't pay much attention to state and local elections (hence the lower turnout among Dems), or even congressional elections when there isn't a Presidential candidate on the ballot. Because of their turnout at the polls and their sustained legal strategy, Republicans have succeeded in dominating the courts around the country, and we are now reaping the results.
I myself don't practice any religion, but I respect the rights of others to do so. If you are looking for an excuse to scapegoat religious people, you will of course do so, but you do it against evidence that shows the majority of religious people support abortion rights, as the linked post details.

(2,496 posts)to the figure in the New Testament, Im referring to the cartoonish caricature of him peddled by the Christian Right. I dont identify as a Christian, but I have at least read the New Testament, and I have a deep respect for the tradition. IMHO, what these people believe in is a projection of their own ego. But of course, one can choose to believe in anything.

Just time for me to move on from it.
