1. I heard Sonia Johnson speak in the 80s.

She said R v Wade sucked all the air out of the women's self help movement. Women had been learning to do menstrual extraction.

3. Wow, I haven't heard the phrase "menstrual extraction" for decades

Even post-Roe, I remember it being a thing among the “Our Bodies, Ourselves”-reading women my feminist mom knew, just because it got your period over with. I can’t remember whether it worked or whether it ever really got popular.

In the mid to late ‘60’s.. my day.. Little Havana back streets in Miami was where to go. Frightening then..horrifying to think about it now. I’m up late.. can’t sleep I’m so angry.. my anger and those of millions of us will not be in vein.. I’m sure of that.
