(15,286 posts)Think abou it. Priests can't marry and therefore do not produce off-spring who could potentially become priests themselves. The only way to get more priests is to convince parishoners, by way of church doctrine, to have kids from which new priests can be recruited.

(15,286 posts)the catholic church. Not sure about Thomas, but 4 of the 6 who voted to overturn Roe are catholic and Gorsuch was raised as a catholic. There is no doubt Alito's stance on abortion and other cultural issues matches that of the most conservative catholics and he wrote the opinon.
There are fewer than 1M abortions a year in the US and that number has been declining after peaking 30 years ago. A large percent, if not majority, of abortions are sought by minority women meaning there wouldn't be enough non-minority babies to have any real impact on white population.
