Supreme Court justices lash out at each other as tensions boil over

While Justice Clarence Thomas spent 63 pages in a 6-3 majority opinion Thursday painstakingly explaining the court's reasons for striking down a New York conceal carry gun law and changing the way judges will analyze a host of other gun regulations going forward, his colleague Samuel Alito took a different tack.

In a sparse but relentlessly caustic concurring opinion, the conservative Alito criticized his liberal colleagues for their dissent, blasting them for attempting to "obscure" the specific question the court had decided, and for referencing the recent mass shootings that have shocked the nation.

The fact that Alito, who joined Thomas' opinion in full, chose to also strike out alone against the dissenters highlights the current tension on the court triggered by a blockbuster docket and the unprecedented leak of a draft majority opinion in May overturning Roe v. Wade.

Alito authored that draft opinion, and Friday's bombshell ruling triggered an angry dissent from the court's liberal justices.

I trust that going forward Justice Kagen, Justice Sotomayer, and Justice Brown Jackson will fight hard against these corrupt goons.

about abortion rights, about safety in the streets, about public funds going to private religious schools. 3 of the 6 were improperly seated and 1 is completely compromised. None of the 4 in that group have the depth of knowledge to make a decision on pizza toppings. Another of the 6 should be wearing robes and preaching from a pulpit. The 6th is the king of hypocrties and deserves imfamy in the hostory books.

Get the worst impeached, or expand the court to dilute their destructive opinions on American life and laws.

F**K the 6

to codify Roe, and then expand the Court. Nullify the effect of Trump's three nominations.

I don't think expansion is going to happen. However, the three can be removed with a large enough majority in the Senate, could be doable by 2025 if...

What I see is the possibility that we gain two or three Senate seats, deal with the filibuster, pass the voting rights laws and gain enough Senate seats in 2024 to have 60 and start removing the liars from the court.

I know it's a long haul but the only sure path given Biden is not on board with expansion of the court.

Meanwhile, we have to put cheetolini in prison.

blood will flow more so from these two decisions. Continued mass shootings, death and suffering. Abortions will continue. Illegal ones in back alleys will be ramp up. Self abortions. More shooting deaths. Abandon babies, imprisonment, brain washing, this is the red states.

Meanwhile, Blue states will flourish with people who feel that they are free.

Well, maybe not. Most of what happens in people’s personal lives is none of my god dammed business and I like it that way.

15. Alito is still pissed that he was O'Connor' s replacement instead of Renquist's

He had just been confirmed when Renquist stepped down, opening up the Chief Justice position.
I remember we called him "Justice French Fry" for upholding the felony incarceration of a young diabetic black woman who was arrested for ignoring transit police and continuing to eat french fries on a DC Metro car to keep from passing out -just before he was nominated for the bench post 911.

He missed being Chief Justice by " this much".
And he's still resentful.

of the population, think what is next for them. The liberals on the Court see more clearly than any of us what is in store.

This is the Right Wing Revolution, and they are going make it all nice and legal.
