Even Pro Life Women should support Abortion rights ... A heart to heart from an older woman

Me

25% of all women in a stat I read not long ago, have had an abortion..

Women are not getting pregnant for the fun of it and running to a clinic to kill a baby.

We do not need to have the state rule over our bodies because we are lunatic killers .. unable to control our impulses..

Congressmen are already making noises about the death penalty for a woman who seeks an abortion
https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/542436-gop-texas-lawmaker-introduces-bill-to-allow-death-penalty-for-women-who/

How many of us in our lifetime naturally aborted a pregnancy we did not even know we had.. just thinking it is a heavy menstrual cycle?.. easily identified by hormone levels in our bodies..could we be taken to court and tried as murderers and get the death penalty?
That would include you my Pro Life sisters..

The right to make decisions about our own bodies is integral to being a fully functioning human.. We do not insist men have a vasectomy (which would do away with most of these complications.. but men also should have a right to decisions about their bodies to be fully functional human..)

Do not so easily give up your rights to your own body..

I have seen times when your husband could have you committed to an asylum without a Dr's backing.. just the husband.. and that was in the 70's in Minnesota.. not that long ago

I have experienced times when I could not register in my birth name at the University of Minnesota because I was married.. That was also the early 70's ...not that long ago

I have experienced not being able to get a credit card without my husband signing off on it.. not that long ago.

My Grandmother could not vote when she turned 21 (that was the age of voting then) because women did not get the right to vote till 1920 not that long ago

All of these things are tied together.. our ability to control what happens to us begins with control of our bodies..

A 8 week old fetus cannot survive outside the womb.. and you cannot force a woman to come to viability against her will.. it is her body her choice.

Probably even you are stunned how the loss of Roe V Wade is going to set you back into 2nd class citizenship.. not only for yourself.. but for your daughters and granddaughters..

Yesterday in Cedar Rapids Iowa a man in a truck tried to run down women who were protesting the loss of Roe V Wade and as I read in my local news outlet .. his wife was screaming stop at him..

The abortion ruling takes away from all groups, including conservative Republicans. They have plenty of abortions but often have the resources more readily available to do so. I think perhaps that, more than anything, is why some of them feel comfortable restricting the rights of others. They think they'll still have options.

"Republicans don't have fewer abortions than Democrats or liberals or anarchists or communists. It's that our political rhetoric paints people who have abortions as largely the same – poor women, young women, irresponsible women, women who hate children," said Amanda Reyes, president of the Yellowhammer Fund, which provides funding for women seeking access to any of Alabama's three abortion clinics. "It's gotten us to a point where we can't see the fact that we're all having abortions, and we're doing it for reasons we personally think matter – and that's all that matters. Pro-life women are having abortions, too."
