What good is the supreme court if it's just going to be a bunch of political hacks and the scales of justice have been tossed. At minimal several members should be impeached for their lies. In essence, the supreme court is rigged and is a burden on society. What value does it really serve now. It does not even follow precedence. How many decisions will they revisit and throw out. It has really become a bullshit entity. It is a national disgrace with rogue members.

(51,611 posts)How do we change the Senate to reflect the population so all states get equal representation like Congress?
thatdemguy
(453 posts)The senate was set up to give all states equal representation, more populous states get more in the house. If you look back the senate was supposed to be elected by the state houses, not the people. They where supposed to represent the states not the people of the state.

(51,611 posts)I meant, isn't there a way to make the Senate like Congress, based on population? Bill Maher and others are complaining about this and I wondered if it can be changed and what would it take?

(453 posts)And the hard part would be to get 3/4 or 38 states to agree to it. Do you really think there is a chance in hell that the smaller half of all the states would agree to lower their level of power at the federal level.

(1,182 posts)What good is it? Our own "House of Lords" to placate our ruling class? Bah!
How about just the House of Representatives with the "original" Constitutional spelled-out number of representatives per 30,000 people?
Based on roughly the number of around 150 million registered voters, that would give us around 5,000 House members.
I bet we could get some coalitions then to pass legislation then, eh?
Out nation suffers from a LACK of representation. Fix THAT, and a LOT of other issues get fixed.
