I don't know how you stamp out hatred, except I suppose by trying to help people get over their innate fear of things that are different and strange to them, and also try to make sure everyone is comfortable enough and nobody is being exploited so that they feel deprived and angry and are inclined to find someone to blame.

But this whole situation does stem in some respects from the decisions made in the 1860s, as far as letting Confederate leaders just go back home and continue leading, etc.

Maybe our mistake was not listening to John Brown, even before all that, I dunno.

15. I think what Cornyn was trying to argue was that if it was ok

to to overturn Plessy many years later in Brown, then why are people complaining about overturning Roe in Dobbs? But because Cornyn is a moron, he seems not to understand, first, that the Supreme Court overturns prior decisions only if there is a very good reason to do so, usually because there has been a significant change in circumstances or national will - clearly the situation in Brown, but not in Dobbs. Nothing has changed since Roe was decided that would indicate any need to overturn it. The opposite is true: for 50 years women have relied on the availability of abortions if necessary, which has markedly improved their economic and social circumstances. Second, Brown removed the pernicious separate-but-equal doctrine established by Plessy, and bolstered the right of Black children to receive an equal education. Dobbs did the opposite: it actually eliminated an established Constitutional right - something that has never happened before.

But, as previously mentioned, Cornyn is a moron. The fact that he actually has a law degree and should have understood the yawning abyss between the two examples suggests that he slept through con law and hired someone to take the bar exam for him.
