Even if Trump didn't expect to be a full blown dictator, he needed to be there to cement his position as the one true leader. Plus he wanted to revel in the adulation.

Just watch how a coup or rigged election works in a banana republic or a Latin American dictatorship. One the dictator "wins" he must be seen in the halls of power, in front of his supporters.

Trump knows how this works, he admires the dictators of the world, he wants to emulate them.

Sure, the violence was already present, but he wanted to stoke it even more.

If he had entered the Capitol with them, it would have become more of a circus, if that's even possible.

I'm assuming he was planning to enter the Senate chamber and watch the proceedings. Kind of like what he did at the 2016 RNC during Ted Cruz's speech. Make everyone nervous with his presence. And a chanting mob outside yelling his name

He was supposed to personally give the signal for the reinforcements with the weapons cache's to engage.

That's why all those Proudboys and Oathkeepers with the weapons cache's never engaged. They were waiting on the word directly from their dear leader. When that didn't happen, when Trump couldn't make it to the capital, they knew something was going awry. They never got their orders, because Trump was prevented from going to the capital.

Trump knew if he didn't give that signal, in person, at the capital, the final stage may not happen and he would lose. That's why he was so desperate to get there. He had to be there to unleash the blood thirsty mob and bring in the second wave with the weapons.

The militia's with the weapons cache's are the "dog that didn't" bark. Ask yourself why? They were waiting, with weapons for orders or a signal. It never came. Why? Because Trump was supposed to give it, live, from the steps of the capital.

that is why he didn't.

Name ONE time he has put himself out front on something like that.

I also don't believe the "story" that he physically attacked anyone.

This will likely be a problem here, but it can not be stated any more honestly than to say he is a pussy.

In American X, the leader of the white supremists talked a big game, then went back to his office, letting the amped up idiots go do the dirty work. That always stuck with me, and 45 was the same way.

I am a good bit shorter and definitely lighter, and I am absolutely confident if were were in the same place at the same time and it came down to it, he would turn and run from me.

The second coming, the Jews converting, the great Moses B. DeMille standing at the top of the capitol steps shouting "Old Pence, Let my people go!" But what happened? "Pharoah's Army got drownded. Oh Blue States doncha mourn."

TFG should have just stuck to "2 Corinthians walked in a bar" for his Biblically inspired entrance.

The leader of the autogolpe has to be able to stand at a symbolic heart of the government he just overthrew and announce that he's the Supreme Leader. There is now no doubt in my mind that TFG envisioned striding into the House chamber ahead of that pack of fat, scruffy Trump-flag-waving wannabes, taking a position at the lectern and announcing that he was still the president.

He was going to order the Capitol Police to stand aside. If they didn't, he was going to call them traitors and sick the mob on them. If they did, he was going to take his mob into Congress.

I think the plan was to avoid the violent attack on police by having him order the Capitol Police to stand down. Whether they would or not is another matter.

Because that was where tfg was going to speak. That was also where the oath keepers were about to charge the Capitol door because one of them had gotten inside and was going to open the door from the inside. It was all planned in advance.

He wanted the spectacle, the Hail, Caesar moment surrounded by his adoring fans and bucked up by his Praetorian Guard. Another attempt to put the fear of God into Pence and anyone disputing his attempt to resume power.

This would have been a Hollywood event, the returning hero who defeated all enemies. He would quickly be embraced, cheered by his passionate supporters. All enacted on the steps of the Capitol, after which he would lead the crowd/mob onto the floor of the House, take his position at the Rostrum and declare victory as Emperor of the World.

So grand. So fantastic.

Made for the Big Screen and befitting a wanna-be tyrant.

Big plans for a very small, vindictive man.
