I was watching the local morning program where going back and forth and bantering is part of it.
The other day they were talking about going back to eat out and at some point they - some of them - were raving about the chicken thingy.
I want to express my indignity but want to be sure that they owner is still a homophobe. I've read someplace that they changed their approach.

Or have they gone radio silent?

(15,908 posts)It has stuck with the company though. I have gone knowing they dont believe that anymore. Its unfortunate what one persons stupid views can do to a company even years later.

(5,300 posts)They are actually tasty. But that was 25 years ago, before I was aware of their true colors.
Now, when I'm in the mood (and the neighborhood; I'm kinda 65 miles from everywhere), I'll go to Popeyes; you can get a better sandwich without a side of hate, and you can do it on a Sunday.

(1,879 posts)It was okay, but not worth the hype. I also found the employees banter slightly creepy.

(2,343 posts)because of the anti lgbtq views, but also because I can't stand to hear the workers forced to say "My pleasure". Such a stupid phrase to force your employees to say. What normal person says "my pleasure"? Annoying.

(66,436 posts)but when my patients thank me at the end of a clinic visit, I often respond "My pleasure."

That sure was a pleasant experience for the patient. Not so much for the dentist.
How about a simple have a nice day and don't make an assumption?
Aristus
(66,436 posts)When assessing how a clinic visit went, it never occurred to me to consult someone who wasnt there. I figured the patient and I were the sole arbiters.
JanMichael
(24,890 posts)I wasn't really commenting on your practice. But the forced niceties at that gawd awful fast place is akin to servitude.
Imagine if the dentist has to say, I.e. forced to say, "it was my pleasure" to Bill Murray's freakish masochistic patient? Eeew.

(1,789 posts)Their chicken sandwich really is better. A couple times a year, I've been known to risk my own health on those things.
The KFC one looks really good, too, but my doctor wouldn't be too happy if I made it my job to exhaustively investigate who has the best deep-fried chicken sandwich.

(11,958 posts)Their level of customer service is way ahead of any of their competitors. The only one close is Culver's.
They must treat their employees pretty well as they are all very attentive, polite and competent.

(25,490 posts)I've been starving at times and the one near my house is so crowded that it's the last place for a starving person to venture.
I've thought of stopping and I see huge lines of vehicles and I'm, "Forget that"...There's a Subway, Hungry Howies, Raising Kanes, McDonald's, Firehouse Subs, Wendy's, Panda Express, Torchy's Tacos and a bunch of other places within a 1/4 mile. They all seem to have much faster service than this crazy Chick Fil A.

I'm not a big fast food person, and my feathered ladies prefer I not eat chicken, but if I get a craving, that's the place. They treat their employees well, they have fantastic customer service, and it's always fast...no matter the line.

(51,308 posts)It's a favorite around here, and I give their gift cards at Christmas to the post person, the garbage guys, the recycle guys, etc. I'd feel like a chump giving them BK or MickeyD.
I reward places that put customers first, do a good job, and have good food. I become exhausted trying to figure out the political leanings of every company I might perchance give my business to on any random day.

(4,756 posts)Yeah, the line at the drive-thru is 5x as long as McD's, but you'll get your food faster. Politics aside, they're the undisputed masters of the Quick-Service Restaurant game.

drive thru service. Its amazing how quickly they move people through the system. Youd come out better getting in their line behind 12 cars than most drive thru restaurants behind 4.
The food is ok for fast food. A little pricey, but usually pretty freshly made. Much better food than McDonalds, BK, etc
I dont go often, but I never go to the others at all.

(37,161 posts)...when I first encountered it in stories about the boycott, I thought it rhymed with Godzilla.
I knew that made no sense and by the end of the second article I'd read I'd figured out the intended pronunciation.
Whether or not to patronize them hasn't been an issue for me. It has only two outlets anywhere near me, and there are a couple of locally-owned places serving similar fare that I like just fine, and feel no need to go out of my way to judge which one's "better."
