Sat 1/14 Fresno, CA: Funeral for Homeless woman who died on the Sidewalk after Tent Cities torn down
(I have emailed local, state and federal officials. Commentators like Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann, Rev Al Sharpton.. about the attacks on the homeless. I have personally talked face to face with people like Rep Maxine Waters, Rep Keith Elison (my MN Rep), and to Amy Goodman, Michael Moore, and Ed Schultz of the attacks on the Homeless through out the last 9 years.
I don't know which is more shameful.. the fact the city throws the people to the streets and takes away even their sleeping bags and tents.. or that others in power don't care. It is sickening. It only took about 2 weeks from the tent cities being destroyed till a street person died on the sidewalk. There will be more because not enough care.. not even the DA of California, or the Feds who sent officials there who are supposed to help with the economy of Fresno )
Saturday, January 14 • 11 a.m.
Big Sue’s funeral will take place on Santa Clara Street west of F Street where Big Sue will join us. She will “come home” to Santa Clara Street, and stop at her memorial for a few minutes.
Participants will walk behind Big Sue’s hearse to the Homeless Church (near San Benito and Broadway) for her service at approximately Noon. The service will be followed by a lunch repast served to the guests of honor, the homeless of Fresno. All are welcome.
Parking at the Church is very limited. There will be a few cars to take those unable to walk from Santa Clara to the homeless church.
