Mitt Romney: The return of Trump would feed the 'sickness' of 'deceit and distrust'

In a 4th of July column for the Atlantic, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) lamented the state of the nation where the two major parties are talking past each other and singled out Donald Trump for "feeding" into the "sickness" gripping the country.

Romney, one of the few Republican lawmakers to vote against the former president in his second impeachment, which he followed with a statement that read in part, "After careful consideration of the respective counsels’ arguments, I have concluded that President Trump is guilty of the charge made by the House of Representatives. President Trump attempted to corrupt the election by pressuring the Secretary of State of Georgia to falsify the election results in his state," expressed unhappiness with both the former president and the current one, Joe Biden.

As the Utah Republican sees it, neither side of the aisle can seem to work together to deal with he calls the "cataclysmic threats" the country faces.

Hey Mittens.....I have to admit that I only read the first three paragraphs of this article, and what I picked up from it was this....Amy Comey Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh...did you or did you not confirm these three federalist society POS .......your party Mittens is the one that is undermining this republic.......and your gaslighting and hoping to have it both ways is not only disingenuous but outright deceitful......so go pound sand.......your three federalist society asshole's and the other three federalist society assholes have gutted and are trying to gut the administrative state of Congress.

In the last session of the Roberts court and a current sitting member of your federalist society bunch is having a wife wanting / praying to just throw out the Constitution in the last election (did you fucking say anything..... a small peep......nope) ....or did you not see what they have been doing in the last, I don't know 4 years (just this last week the federalist society attacked the "right" to privacy and and the air that everyone on the planet needs to breath) ( and then to further undermine this republic this same right wing fascist federalist society court that you voted to have is going to hear a case on who should be in charge of voting in North Carolina, instead of the voter, you know hand picked hacks) ( and to add further insult to your bullshit we have Citizens United and that gutting of the Voting Right Act or did you forget Shelby vs Holder )......

And in closing Mitten's do you think that since there are 13 federal courts or regions in this country, do you fucking think that the country should have 13 justices instead of the nine (9) sitting on the bench?

Curious minds want to know asshole, or would you "filibuster that concept? well where are waiting, since the "filibuster" is not in the Constitution ......)..

Uhhhhhh, Dems have consistently tried to work WITH YOU. How about you try doing the same?

Why keep trying to extend an olive branch to a destructive beast that bites your arm off?

You might as well blame the Jews for not "coming together to work with the Nazis".

What an ignorant bag of dicks.

If they heap scorn on trump, they are required to heap scorn on Biden.

Ask all never thumpers m this: if trump is the republican candidate, will you vote for him.

There is something you can do that will make my scepticism vanish like snow in sunshine: change parties.
OK you won’t be re-elected in Utah but at least you’ll go out in a blaze of glory.
