6. Probably, but due to ignorance, not due to any compassion or common sense

Go to any of them sporting a swastika armband and ask them what it is they find so appealing about National Socialism. Watch 99.99 % of them fly into a rage and say, "whaddya mean, I ain't no goddam socialist!!"

What do they think "Nazi" means, anyway? It's an abbreviation for National Socialist, as in NSDAP, Nationalsozialistiche Deutsche Arbeiterpartei. National Socialist German Workers Party. "National" in German is pronounced "NAH-tsee-oh-NAHL," and, since the Europeans love their abbreviations, they just called it "NAH-tsee" for short. The "z" in German is pronounced like our "ts."

The whole Trump phenomenon was based on the ignorance of its followers, with a few savvy non-believers at the top, who saw a huge advantage for themselves by manipulating the thoughts of the intellectually lazy masses. Hitler understood how it worked. Joe McCarthy understood how it worked. Nixon understood how it worked. Reagan understood how it worked. Rupert Murdoch understands how it works. Dick Cheney understands how it works. The guys who maneuvered Trump into the Oval Office certainly understood how it works.

There is a reason Republicans want to defund any education they don't control fully.

10. Thank you. I can't stand seeing that reference used time and time again.

Now, are there Trump supporters that hold ideals that would be sympathetic to the Nazis, absolutely. There are white supremacists, racists, the whole gambit. But to compare them all to "full blown Nazis" is just ridiculous. I have spent much time researching the Third Reich, Hitler's rise to power and the Holocaust. What was actually done was so incredibly vile and evil. I don't agree with Trump on just about everything. He is a scumbag to the 10th degree and a piece of shit. But he wasn't a Hitler, not even in the same realm of discussion.

And they tend to be people who think their way of life is threatened because they have swallowed whole the line of bullshit that the likes of the Tucker Carlson’s of the world spew continuously.

Not everyone who supports Trumpy is evil or anti-American, rather a large portion of the right leaning electorate is afraid the America they have in their heads is unretrievably slipping away.

We need to pity them, not disparage them.

9. There are. I have a few family members who I love very much but disagree with greatly

To be fair, there are areas where they have discussed with me their disagreement about Trump and his policies/actions. But they also agree with him on many things. Obviously, I disagree on all of them. That being said. they aren't "full blown Nazis", not even close. Are there hateful, evil Trump supporters out there, of course. And they deserve the scorn. But, there are also misguided folks that for some reason support him but are still decent human beings. I know my family members well, and have seen them engage in countless acts of kindness and love to help disadvantaged people. Black, Brown, whatever the race of the person, that was never something that mattered when helping.
