6 dead 31 injured in highland park according to latest reports

26 at highland park hospital 5 at evanston hospital

for those who dont know HP is about 30 miles north of chicago,in lake county illinois just across the border from cook county
it is one of the wealthiest suburbs of chicago,more than a quarter of the household makes over 200k a year.
it is very blue . its high school district is one of the highest rated in the country.

...city sued the city over it's ban on military style weapons. It went all the way to the Supreme Court. The court declined to take the case.

The mayor of Highland Park ran in the June 28th Democratic primary, for IL Supreme Court. She had several high level endorsements, including Jill Wine-Banks and House representative Jan Schakowsky, but did not win the primary.
