That's what it has become.
That's a big ass problem if you ask me.
If only there were ways to solve problems.
I think that everything that is happening currently is collectively affecting everyone's mental health in ways that are so insidious, we won't even know what those effects are until the next decade.

(38,317 posts)My wife and I quit traditional television entirely more than a decade ago. No broadcast, cable, or satellite. We stream everything and never see any commercials or "breaking news."
The U.S.A. is a wasteland of toxic ideologies and religions. There's no good reason to immerse one's self in that shit, or the consequences of that shit, by leaving the television on.

(15,540 posts)Even the most stable of us are affected by all that's happening in our country. Some of us don't know it yet. We can't put our finger on the reasons we feel so disconnected. But unless we right this ship of state and SOON, we will all be feeling even worse than we do right now.

(33,164 posts)After several months of waiting for the other shoe, I thought (silly me, thinking) that I could take a short respite while those responsible officially cinched down the removal of Tangerine Idi Amin. I woke up a half hour later in fucking Mogadishu.
So, yeah, I am pretty messed up and probably will be for life.
