We all know the upcoming midterms will be the most important one in our country's history, and we need to
try every option we can think of to lower gas pump prices because this is the only issue that would hurt us
at the Ballot Box.
President Biden recently stated "My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the
pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril" So lets talk about WAR and the Powers the President has
during times of WAR. We are heavily involved in the Ukraine/Russia WAR, and Putler HATES us because of it.
Might he attack us? Need to keep all our oil if he does.
Granted, currently we have no boots on the ground but what does the future hold for us? We also have the
"National Emergency Powers" Updated November 19, 2021 to use, one current emergency we have is "pro-life
children going hungry because Mom & Dad need over priced gas to get to work and back" I'm sure you
Strategists can come up with better emergencies than that one.
We only need one good reason why as a country we should stop selling gas & oil overseas while this WAR is
ongoing, lowering the price at the pump and improving Biden's popularity.
Is there a way to put some kind of "Reverse Tariff" on oil & gas because we need it all here? Make it so
expensive nobody would buy it? Last I heard Saudi Arabia is not increasing their oil production despite increased
world demand. Take that as their way to help get Agolf Twitler & Rs back in charge.
So, all you Democrat Strategists & Planners with ties to the White House or Congress Members put your thinking
caps on and find something truthful we can use to lower gas prices and help us in the midterms. Remember it
should be a truth, but you don't have to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, this isn't a courtroom,
we just need to sway public opinion in our favor. Besides Rs and their propaganda networks flat out lie all the time.

if I was head of the DNC I'd be trying to turn states Blue.

I said the same without saying it. Maybe we all need to pressure him to do the strong thing, because we are at war, including a civil war directed by Russia. Everything fits when you take that premise. Perfectly.
It is clear to citizens that while legislators and DOJ investigate a failed coup attempt at the Capitol, a successful coup has overtaken the USSC, which is dismantling the Constitution in a concerted effort by right-wing domestic terrorists, members of the Republican party, oligarchs, Christian Nationalists (Christian in name only) and others, a Mitchavillian (!) scheme that follows the Russian strategy to divide and destroy the United States,.
Normalize hate and violence
Stochastic terrorism
Bring down elected government and democratic processes.
This was also seen in 30s Germany,
We are in a state of emergency, and are today divided into slave and free states.
We have the rare opportunity to stop tyranny in its tracks, and must.
This calls for extraordinary measures, some of which may be available to you in the expanded executive powers granted since 2001.They may include executive orders, expanding the USSC, ending the filibuster rule or others more potent. Why extraordinary? Because actions to destroy our democracy are going on right now, and are extreme, as in the sedition known as the civil war.
Many of us see your primary job as halting a foreign-supported civil war, already begun.
...
Please don't wait for a 9/11-style concentrated terrorist attack. A nationwide distributed terrorist attack is under way now, with many more casualties suffered, including school children.
Oh, maybe print and snail mail it. Web form text area too small.

(17,259 posts)While I was reading it I began to wonder if writing the President was our best option, I'm sure he gets a lot
of mail and clerks read most of them and are they equipped to recognize worthwhile ideas? We might be
better off flooding our elected Reps & Senators and even retired Democrats who still have connections in
D.C., Al Franken and Claire McCaskill come to mind. Plus how about the MSNBC evening crew? If Democrat
politicians seen Rachel saying why not try this or that, we might get some brain wheels turning.
What do you think?

(9,815 posts)Naturally, nobody actually reads these, not even the staff. They skim, punch a button maybe on the computer and it's a statistic.
That said, Diane Feinstein replied with what might have been a form letter, but it answered my question. She is willing to carve out a filibuster exception on issues she is strongly in favor of.
I don't use social media other than DU (my brain would explode with the garbage)
Anyway, it didn't go out (except here) and I am working on a re-write (which may be the same damn thing). I just thought: What if I START from the "This is entirely Russian interference, as in war" point of view and say that the GQP was taken over from the old guard Limbaugh and company days entirely. A Russian takeover.
Then absolutely everything fits perfectly. The White (Russian Orthodox) Complicity (you've seen pictures of them blessing nukes), the oil (Oh, the oil), the disruption, the hate for Hillary, the guns, destroying the Constitution, Ukraine, everything ...
Do I change my words? I'll have to review and then ask how best to present it and to whom, and who gives a flying fickle finger.
So, it's an open letter that only DU'ers read, but it totally gets indexed by Google and others.
TBD. A re-read I did was good.
I am open to suggestions, as you mentioned, thanks!
And I am not averse to feedback forms (I prefer regular email addresses, such as "tips@whatever.com" or "feedbac@someplace.com" I plan to do this real soon. No time to waste.
Thanks for the feednack!!
