(3,680 posts)Her father did plenty of it on Iraq. I am glad she draws the line at the preservation of democracy, but she is bad on the issues.

(54,027 posts)2. She's partnering with the Democrats in going after Trump, who she supported 95% of the time. Now she calls Democrats "pure evil" for killing babies after they're born (some type of abortion procedure, I assume).
So there's one thing we've learned about Liz Cheney, she doesn't have a problem partnering with pure evil, whether it's Trump or the Democrats. She's a Cheney. This is just an apple not rolling far from the tree.

Probably not, but she's useful in her fight against the orange monster.

(82 posts)No use keeping her when she bucks the system. Should we ?

(7,809 posts)She's rethug, always has been, always will be. She will probably stay as long as the committee keeps meeting because her goals coincide with ours. But she is not one of us and she would be the first to say so. As long as she and we can work together to get rid of the orange monster, it will be an alliance.

(40,212 posts)Secondly, this is not news. She has always been fervently anti-choice.
This guy has been attacking her on Twitter non-stop. No one thinks her views have changed. Or that democrats should vote for her.
She is doing great work on the J6 committee to save democracy. End of story.

(12,449 posts)Liz Cheney doesn't hate Trump because Trump is evil and did bad shit.
She's mad because he destroyed neoconservatism.
She certainly hoped to be the standard bearer for the McCain/Cheney/Kristol flavor of conservatism.
She's no different than every other 1980's thru 2000's GOP'er
Hopefully fewer pom poms and drooling posts about her now.

(111,103 posts)Liz Cheney never said she was a liberal and never promised she would change her position on abortion? What did you really expect from her?
She is in a race in Wyoming which she will probably lose and if she came against the Roe ruling, that would likely be the final nail in the coffin.
She is on our side fighting for our democracy against the most dangerous man in the world.
What more do you expect?

(619 posts)She gives no information or reference to what the issue is. HOW are Dems killing babies? Is she saying Dems are attacking newborns in the nursery or something? This is how the right demonizes the opposition. Throw out some horrific statements without evidence, and their followers lap it up, and it mushrooms from there.

(90,773 posts)torturing it to death.
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) praised President Donald Trumps reported decision to order a review of how the U.S. is handling the war on terror...
Its been clear, certainly since we stopped the enhanced interrogation program, were not even in a position anymore, frankly, where were very often capturing people, Cheney said. We have nothing to do with people when we do capture them.
What we know is that the enhanced interrogation program provided some of the information, and some of the evidence, that eventually led us to be able to locate, capture and kill bin Laden, Cheney said. I do support enhanced interrogation, I think that its something that clearly has helped us in the past to save lives, and so I was glad to see President Trump take that step.
The use of enhanced interrogation has been ― when it was in use ― very limited, Cheney said, limited to only three people who were waterboarded and used in a situation where we had to get information to save American lives.
Its the responsibility of any chief executive, any commander in chief to make sure we use every tool at our disposal, she continued, understanding that its not torture. We dont torture, we havent tortured.
Well, it (waterboarding) wasnt torture, so thats not the right way to lay out the argument.
So I think it does a real disservice to the people who ran the (torture) program to equate it with robbing a bank or with criminal activity.
Liz Cheney, We Have a Memory. Youre No Hero.
Nah. No amnesia for me, thank you.
With respect to Dick Cheney, I ask you to recall just one thing: the torture program under the Bush administration. Hes said that if he had it to do over, he would torture again.
The torture gene must run in the family, for Liz Cheney praised the Trump administrations review of the treatment of terrorism suspects. As HuffPost reported:
Cheney also asserted that waterboarding works, and that it helped in securing crucial information leading to the capture of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden (a debunked theory). Its been clear, certainly since we stopped the enhanced interrogation program, were not even in a position anymore, frankly, where were very often capturing people, Cheney said. We have nothing to do with people when we do capture them.
And of course, she has no problem lying about the Democratic Party's position on abortion. Of course, she's full of shit.

(43,049 posts)of somewhere mentioned late term abortion, which leads to death. Usually when the kid wouldn't have lived anyway.
This got overplayed, as things tend to when in campaign mode, and nobody would dare to come out for baby murder so Liz can happily go on to the next subject.
There's plenty to complain about with her-- no need to make stuff up.
