(11,087 posts)Just ignore all those Trump posters and red hats and white supremacist paraphernalia. Just keep repeating, "Antifa!" and when his RW connections can't be denied any longer, say, "We shouldn't politicize this."
And you can tell he has mental health problems by the color of his skin.

(53,035 posts)Thank you for the link. I don't consider twitter to be reliable or print media, unless it is from a news publication. What it does is feed rumors. But thank you for the tweet. I know you were trying to help. I'm just frustrated at the rumors flying around and how easily people take every random photo or tweet as evidence. He may turn out to be a MAGAT, but a photo that looks sort of like him doesn't convince me.

(36,095 posts)over the state line by then, since Kenosha, WI, is only one hour from Highland Park.
So seriously, what the hell is this all about. Did he just drive around, waiting for the cops? Did the cops just hang out with him and later report that they found him? Was his apprehension really nothing except that slow? That incompetent? I find any of this hard to believe. Who's going to tell the actual story of his apprehension. Probably no one. That part I don't find hard to believe.
Reporters -- supposedly having learned from the Uvalde coverup, and other mass shooting arrests -- ought to dig into this better than they did re Uvalde's law enforcement.
Mass shootings do a lot of death, community harm, and national psychological harm, and slow police response to them are even more alarming when we think about how fast they move to protect "important" people.
Justice matters.
(6,933 posts)They asked for tips and they got some pointing at this weirdo's "Awaken"-some-sh!t "productions" online.
Edit: Then they searched for his "past" criminal-record history and found his mug shot.

(36,095 posts)That was around 4 pm EST.
The shooting took place before 10:40 AM, the first report of it was 1 PM.
First reports of a name showed up on Chris Hayes around 5 pm, by which time we here already knew the name. The alleged shooter apprehended at a distance just 30 minutes north of Highland Park, then brought back by Highland Park Police, but as of 7 PM EST no charges were filed.
AND what police did with him after they apprehended him is also weird.
Not buying into the "good policing" line yet. I'm not buying that Crimo was seriously trying to get away in a car, either.
The guy was taken in about five hours after the shooting. It takes at least several hours to put out a description and get reliable tips. Thats pretty damn fast. I havent seen any reason to fault the cops in this case.
ancianita
(36,095 posts)they got the name. So go ahead and explain the likelihood that he just thought he could hang around a major interstate all that time.
DET
(1,323 posts)Exactly what do you think that law enforcement should have done differently to catch him sooner? Stop every car looking for a skinny white guy with dark hair?

(36,095 posts)up each and every time there's a mass shooting. A LOT of solutions.
But then along with them is a lot of complaining, though, so look out.
