This is a no-wrong-answer question. In general, if you have any disposable income to dedicate to politics, in general terms, how do you principally spend it?

(1,536 posts)At 70 I am beyond trusting politicians to follow through on campaign dreams.
When I donate, to politicians who seem to share my interests, I donate small, expecting that if when things proabably go bad ( I am supporting someone who shares -my- much in the minority values after), I'll lose small.
I don't believe in supporting Sunk Costs. I won't give just to help someone I earlier gave a little.

(5,790 posts)Contrary to what ActBlue seems to think, I do not have unlimited funds. I mostly support candidates outside my state because my state is mostly deep red (thst may be changing somewhat). I support GiffordsPAC sometimes because we shouldn't keep having endless mass shootings.

(35,961 posts)And that's because it's just a totally weird thing to do. I donate to animal rescue groups, the RSPCA, Amnesty International and stuff like that. Why do already cashed up political parties need my money????

(9,988 posts)I don't have bottomless money, and right now I'm sending what I can to people most under attack: abortion funds, LGBTQ funds, funds for Black people affected by police brutality.

(5,557 posts)I have to agree with them on most or all of their ideas to give them money. We are a big tent party, and frankly a fair amount of the time I am voting blue simply because our candidate is a better choice than the alternative. My money is a limited resource, so it only goes to the candidates who are closest to me on a broad range of topics.
