My melanoma nightmare update.

Had my 3rd treatment of the drug Keytruda. No major side effects. When I get the treatment once every 3 weeks, it wipes me out for about 24 hours. Kind of like when you got the covid vaccine. Then I quickly recover. Every doctor, nurse, I talk to raves about the drug Keytruda.

The 7 inch scar on my face is healing nicely. I had the surgery 3 months ago and the scar is hardly noticeable. Still have some swelling on my face and still have no feeling on the right side of my face. That is slowly improving.

Got some real good news yesterday, During the pet scan I had for my melanoma, it showed a possible growth on my prostate. I saw the urologist yesterday and he does not believe it is cancer. Have to get an MRI to make sure. When the doctor told me that I did a dance in his office. I was so fucking happy. Dealing with one cancer is enough.

Glad the drug isn't kicking your ass. Glad the urologist thinks there's no cancer in your prostate.

Keep that good news coming!

I told him my luck is coming from the fact I am very pro-active. I plan ahead, think ahead, I protect myself. Being pro-active can lead to good luck. It's not like I won the lottery.

I have a small cyst on my face that I never had biopsied (it's been there for many years so I presume it's not melanoma). But I presume most people would not biopsy something like that.

It was tested and came back normal. Then the melanoma showed itself. It was like the removal of the small cyst woke up the melanoma. It was very strange.

Glad your scar is healing nicely. I've heard wonderful things about Keytruda.

I'm having scanxiety today. I go for a CT scan tomorrow. The first one since treatment ended, and it's only so the uro doc can check on the state of my kidneys/kidney stones. Hoping this time all they see are my 2 kidney stones and nothing else questionable. My onco said they won't be doing PET scans at any time during my 5 years of follow up appts.

Hoping that your MRI is clear and you're doing another happy dance soon!

It’s pretty scary the first time you see the wound on your face, but most of my scars are pretty unnoticeable too. Not nearly as scary as dealing with melanoma!

She had a lung biopsy last Friday, no results yet.

I'm perplexed by your statement "Kind of like when you got the covid vaccine." I don't know anyone who became ill or wiped after any of the vaccines and booster shots. Your vaccine experience is not universal.

Hope you feel better soon.

My side effects from the covid shots were worse then the side effects I am getting from my Keytruda treatments.
