Some 40,000 National Guard and 22,000 Reserve soldiers who refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19 are no longer allowed to participate in their military duties, also effectively cutting them off from some of their military benefits, Army officials announced Friday.
"Soldiers who refuse the vaccination order without an approved or pending exemption request are subject to adverse administrative actions, including flags, bars to service, and official reprimands," an Army spokesperson said in a statement.
The move comes in the midst of the annual training season, during which part-time soldiers are often ordered to serve from two weeks to a month with their units for summer training exercises. Those training events are usually critical for soldiers to sharpen their military skills and for unit commanders to ensure their formations are ready to deploy if needed.
If the soldiers continue to refuse the vaccine, the consequences could be even more dire.

(21,163 posts)The plus is they are getting rid of the MAgas, Qanon and white power types but now they are pissed and might be easier to be recruited and radicalized by the private mercenaries like that Blackwater Prince guy to assist the maggot in his next coup.

(8,758 posts)Anybody else. All those militias are still out numbered massively. Take arms against our country, face the mightiest military on earth. Maybe the new variant will wipe em out before that.
I have zero Doubt they will join trumps military against the States. If we are at war, treason death penalty applies.
This way we can cut the Pentagon budget.
I do not recall one single Sailor bitching about the dozens of shots we got prior to each 7 month deployment. We always said Army were not as tough.

(13,496 posts)the Military is all about respective the chain of command. Soldiers have to get vaccinated for all sorts of diseases. And if leadership allows exceptions for this one, then it'll call into question all the others.
They need to come down hard on this and let the chips fall where they may.

(503 posts)If they can't obey orders, they need to be discharged. I talked to an acquaintance the other day. She said her son just got out of the Air Force after serving 6 years. He got a general discharge for not getting vaccinated. He lost his GI bill but can apply for an honorable in a year. There is nothing honorable about disobedience.
Captain Zero
(6,811 posts)Disallow these applications for Honorable Discharge for 1 year and move them out to 6 years.
Say that since this was a refusal of a command that effected military readiness it has to be delayed.
Also make the honorable revocable if they ever join an 'irregular militia.'

(523 posts)This means 60,000 enlistees have figured out a way to avoid being deployed overseas and also possibly getting administrative discharges from service that may have been misrepresented by the recruiting officer.
