Michelle Donelan was appointed education secretary on Tuesday night, to replace Nadhim Zahawi. After less than 48 hours in office, she has quit.

Nothing actually changed in that time, apart from about 50 of her colleagues resigning.
She was appointed Education Secretary on Tuesday evening, to replace Nadhim Zahawi, who was made Chancellor (ie in charge of the Treasury). He is already calling on Johnson to resign (next entry down in the Guardian live blog), but not resigning (yet).
