The British newspeople reported he was quite chipper this morning before the resignation.

But he gets it, as opposed to Fearless Leader on our shores. These British leaders are never under any illusion despite their public pronouncements. As opposed to America, very few of them would get that far if they were purely stupid narcissistic ego maniacs like the former guy here. I do recall many years ago that there was an analysis of the educational levels of the house of lords versus American politicians in the house and senate and the only member of either body in the US who would qualify was Daniel Patrick Moynihan from an educational standpoint. Many of these people are classically educated, a qualification which not only does not exist in America, but even if you wanted to send your child for one it would be nearly impossible unless you were extremely wealthy and connected. My British professors and teachers over the years, and I had a few, were immensely more complete from an academic standpoint than almost any American with whom I dealt. I’m not saying that all British are educated this way, far from it, but those who attend the most prestigious schools have remarkable backgrounds and compared to Americans would be considered renaissance men and women.

But he's smart and "clever", unlike Trump.

I continue to be baffled at how near majorities of voters in countries as sophisticated as the US, UK, and Italy can think it's funny or whatever to keep voting for these completely clownish tyrant wannabes.

Aren't tyrants Iften clowning though? I wonder why.

Mostly because he's hanging on for a week or so. Maybe he thinks the people will forget his messes?
