It is possible Cipollone could be granted immunity and forced to testify before a grand jury.

He tried to stop the coup and he knows everything. This is the type of person you grant immunity too. Cipollone testifies before the committee tomorrow, they will record it.

Immunity only works with respect to self incrimination. It appears that Cippollane did not commit in any crimes.. cippolone May be asserting executive privilege and attorney client privilege

Executive privilege doesn't cover asking him to corroborate the testimony that Hutchinson gave. Executive privilege doesn't prevent him from explaining why he thought what Trump was doing was committing a crime. Executive privilege does not keep him from testifying anything that Trump did or why he tried to get Hutchinson to keep the president from carrying out his plan to go to the Capitol building.

Executive privilege just not impart a right to cover up criminal activities

but I suspect that he wants to talk, maybe not about direct conversations he had with the Mango Menace, but he can provide firsthand knowledge of what was going on before, during and after the attempted coup.

A grant of immunity only applies to criminal acts committed by the witness. Cipollone does not appear to have violated any law. Cipollone can refuse to testify on the grounds of Executive privilege and attorney client privilege. A great of immunity has no effect on these two privileges

The J6 Committee has agreed to limit scope of the deposition to avoid matters that are clearly covered by claims of executive privilege.

Cipollone is 56, with 10 kids. He is a lawyer in private practice. He isn't stupid, won't risk his own law license to lie for Trump. That said, he is a close friend of Laura Ingraham - reportedly among those who convinced her to convert -- so he is among the crazy ones.

I read his testimony is expected to be about 2.5 hours - which is pretty short. The Committee can ask him to confirm what Cassidy Hutchinson said Pat said - did he make certain statements. Don't see how executive privilege or attorney client privilege would protect those statements.

The Committee can also ask him to confirm the statements made in the meeting among Clark, Donahue, etc. with Trump. Don't see how executive privilege or attorney client privilege would protect those statements.
