Top 10 Conservative Idiots Special Report 2: The Overturning Of Roe V Wade Edition

Top 10 Conservative Idiots Special Report 2: The Overturning Of Roe V Wade Edition

Welcome back to the Top 10 Conservative Idiots! Hooooooooooooooly shit. You know, when we started this thing our staffers were joking that we’d never see Roe V Wade overturned in our lifetime. Well, how about last fucking week? Oh and this SCOTUS isn’t stopping there. They’re going hard in on overturning our fundamental rights. Not only that, they deliberately and intentionally lied under oath. Yet all of these assholes are still serving! So we’ve got this second special report for you. We’re coming to you live, audience less from our home at the Constellation Room in Santa Ana, California for this special edition of the Top 10. Which means that we’re abandoning our usual format for a mini Top 10 of sorts kind of like we did way back when. And we’ve got a total of 2 entries for you. In the first entry, we’re going to recap all the madness of the radical religious right overturning Roe V Wade (1). In the second slot, we’re going to profile recently outed as a complete soulless psychopath, Clarence Thomas (2), in a new edition of “This Fucking Guy”. Because he seems hell bent (ha!) on enacting the Christian Taliban’s true agenda for the US and he wants to do it, probably before his wife gets indicted! Enjoy! And as always don’t forget the key!

Holy fucking shit. I never in a million years thought that Roe V Wade would be overturned. But ever since the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her replacement with Stepford Wife and deranged cultist Amy Comey Barrett, I could sense this day was coming. So just to recap – here’s how important elections are. Because that shitbag got elected, he was able to nominate 3 religious zealots to the highest court in the land, all of which deliberately and intentionally lied under oath – a felony! So he put on the highest court in the land – two people which would decide the future of women’s rights – a drunken rapist and a deranged cultist. Even worse is that Clarence Thomas outed himself as maybe the biggest fucking soulless asshole piece of shit in the country. Maybe even worse than Trump. Maybe. But of course we all already knew that. He just made it official. So where do we go from here? it’s apparent that the Supreme Court has unleashed absolute evil in the country. You know ever since Kobe’s helicopter crash back in March 2020, I could sense that moment I first heard about it, that something extremely bad was coming. Of course since then, we’ve had a major pandemic, riots, extreme weather changes, massive shortages, mass shooting after mass shooting, and now this. And somehow I don’t think we’ve seen the worst of it yet. So where do we go from here? Well… it’s complicated.

Feminist Majority Foundation President Eleanor Smeal and Feminist Majority Executive Director Katherine Spillar released the following statement:

“Today’s Supreme Court tragic and cruel decision to overturn Roe v Wade is catastrophic and endangers the lives and futures of millions of women and girls, especially poor women and women of color. This is the first time in the history of the Supreme Court and this country that a fundamental constitutional right has been taken away. The Court is out of touch with the more than two-thirds of American people who support comprehensive reproductive health and rights.

“With the Supreme Court’s decision, the war against women will intensify. Over the last four decades, every time the anti-abortion forces have won a battle, the extremists in their ranks have been emboldened, and violence against abortion providers has increased. We are once again in a state of emergency. Even in the run-up to the decision, reproductive health providers have experienced a dramatic increase in violence and threats of violence at their facilities, including bomb threats, death threats, invasions and stalking. We will work with the Biden administration, allied organizations and clinics to counter and reduce anti-abortion extremist violence.

“We agree with President Biden, this is not over. The right of women and people to make their own decisions including about abortion, contraception, and the right of privacy including same-sex marriage, will be on the ballot this November. We call upon Congress to pass immediately the Women’s Health Protection Act to restore protections for abortion nationwide.”

Oh it gets worse! So much worse! To me the most truly mind boggling thing about this is that these are the people who say that they want government out of their lives as much as possible! This is the reverse of that – this is literally inviting the government to be in your life as much as possible! And it’s people who you wouldn’t trust with a thermometer probing your inner most personal areas at that. If the Christian right wants people to have sex strictly for reproduction, that seems to be where we are headed and they’ll tear down the walls of freedom of speech and expression to get there!

Women's decisions about their reproductive healthcare are no longer theirs to make. It's now up to the individual states to decide whether or not you can terminate a pregnancy, because the Supreme Court has decided that there is no constitutional right to an abortion.

That's right, the U.S. Supreme Court has officially overturned 50 years of established legal precedent, effectively sending American women back to pre-1973 America, before Roe v. Wade was decided and then repeatedly upheld, and the right to seek an abortion depended on which state you lived in.

That's true again, today. As of June 24, it is now a question for state legislatures whether women should be allowed to access abortion care.

In a 6-3 decision, the court decided that there is no constitutional right to an abortion, and that it is up to the states can choose whether or not to impose extreme restraints on reproductive healthcare (including the possibility of criminalization).

Oh yes, “daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn” is right. Hell it doesn’t even begin to describe what is going to happen once the control of abortion is returned to the states. And many of the states that are being targeted already have some ultra-strict abortion laws in place. This is going to make things that much fucking worse! Just look at this abortion case out of Ohio that is gaining national attention. To me what’s truly mind boggling is that conservatives are totally OK with this, yet god forbid that kids attend a drag show because that might warp their minds. Imagine what this is going to do!

A 10-year-old child abuse victim was forced to seek an abortion in Indiana after her home state of Ohio barred abortion following the Supreme Court decision to overturn of Roe v. Wade.

A child abuse doctor in Ohio sought the help of Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist, on Monday to help the girl get an abortion after the state banned the procedure after six weeks - hours after the 6-3 Supreme Court vote, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

The child was six weeks and three days pregnant - therefore, ineligible by just three days to receive the procedure in her home state.

Abortion advocates in the state attempted to halt Ohio's six-week abortion ban, but the effort was denied by a judge on Friday.

Holy fucking shit! 10 years old! 10! 10! 10! 10! 10! No matter how many times I say it, it still sounds fucking weird! Seriously if I was the parent in that case, I would rip that guy’s head off. And that’s putting it mildly what I would do to him. But that said, the biggest villain in all of this is Clarence Thomas, who revealed himself as an ultra far right wing sycophant this week. And you think he’ll be done after this? Oh no! He’s just getting started! And it’s all a blatant “fuck you” to liberalism. That’s all this ruling is, and that’s what he and all the other dipshits got put on the court to do – fuck over the part of this country that’s not entrenched in the Murdoch cult!

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has always been an outlier, chiding his fellow justices, taking a dim view of anything that wasn’t in the Constitution becoming part of the judicial fabric of the country.

And thus as justice Samuel Alito’s authorship of the reversal of Roe v. Wade claimed abortion isn’t part of federal law because there is no mention of it in the Constitution, Thomas declared in his concurrence that the ruling didn’t go far enough, there were other issues the court should reconsider.

Far be it for me to call Thomas a hypocrite, but if you’re seeking to revisit rulings that allow for people to use birth control, have same-sex intimate relations and allow for same-sex marriage, but don’t mention the right to interracial marriage spelled out in Virginia v. Loving when you are Black and your wife is white, well, it sure looks like hypocrisy.

The reversal of Roe puts the regulation or denial of abortions back on the states (some states had laws in place before Roe v. Wade allowing abortion). Immediately following the Supreme Court’s decision states fell all over themselves to be the first to outlaw abortion, with some states looking to reconvene legislatures off for the summer so abortion regulations or denial could be put into place.

Yes, boo this man! So after 42 years on the bench – as long as I have been alive – he now reveals what his true colors are? And his true colors are red! Bright fucking red. Redder than 10,000 suns. And like I said this entire exercise is 100% pro Fox and 100% a “fuck you” to liberals and liberalism. Anyone who thinks this isn’t about politics is dead wrong. It is 110% about politics. And if you think we can snap our fingers and get out of this, like Thanos, you’re wrong. In fact the rest of the world is as horrified as we are about this.

Many world leaders and international human rights groups condemned Friday's U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and effectively ending all federal protections on abortion in the United States. Others, including the Vatican's Pontifical Academy for Life, praised it.

The big picture: With Friday's decision, the U.S. became a global outlier on abortion rights, joining just three other countries that have rolled back abortion access since 1994, according to the Center for Reproductive Rights. In the last 25 years, nearly 60 countries have liberalized their abortion laws.

Here's a look at how world leaders and politicians reacted to Friday's decision:
"One of the darkest days for women's rights"

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon: "One of the darkest days for women’s rights in my lifetime. Obviously the immediate consequences will be suffered by women in the US - but this will embolden anti-abortion & anti-women forces in other countries too. Solidarity doesn’t feel enough right now - but it is necessary."

This Fucking Guy: Clarence Thomas
[br]
[br]

This week’s “This Fucking Guy” is one of the 9 justices on the United States Supreme Court – Clarence Thomas. Yes, the husband of noted insurrectionist Ginni Thomas is the one man who will probably be leading the United States’ march toward a fascist religious authoritarian dictatorship. Because after 42 years on the bench and most of it was silent – he’s finally speaking out. And he’s airing his grievances, and nothing of which is things we will like. In fact it’s the exact opposite of that. Like picture a field full of blooming flowers. Now picture the exact opposite of that. Because that’s the world that Justice Thomas wants to take us to. It’s not pretty. And things are only going to get worse from here on out. It’s no secret that his wife Ginni is a card carrying MAGA insurrectionist. So why are we profiling him now you might ask? Well I answer you – it’s because he finally revealed his true agenda. And it’s bright red – brighter than 10,000 supernovas! So what’s really behind that robe? Well… that was probably poor phrasing but it’s very ugly.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas told his law clerks he intended to serve on the highest court of the land to make the lives of liberals "miserable," according to a 1993 report from The New York Times.

Thomas, who was confirmed to the Supreme Court in 1991 amid contentious confirmation hearings, resented the media coverage surrounding his appointment. Central to the hearings were accusations and testimony about alleged sexual harassment of one of his subordinates, Anita Hill, who accused the justice of repeated, unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate conduct in the workplace.

He was ultimately confirmed in a 52-48 vote.

In a conversation with his law clerks two years following his confirmation, The New York Times reported Thomas expressed his desire to serve on the court until the year 2034.

"The liberals made my life miserable for 43 years," a former clerk remembered Thomas – who was 43 years old when confirmed – saying, according to The New York Times. "And I'm going to make their lives miserable for 43 years."

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! That’s right – Mr. Thomas is a walking, talking right wing meme factory! He’s that creepy relative who sits across from you at the Thanksgiving table and never participates in political discussions, but you can probably guess his stance from the American flag bald eagle Ed Hardy shirt he’s wearing. But now after all this time, after the conservative Christian right finally got their grand prize is he starting to let it all be known. And he’s a massive right wing AM radio Fox News loving douchebag. But would you be shocked to learn that America’s lawyers have said that he's one of the worst justices in US history? I am not!

Justice Clarence Thomas is the only current member of the Supreme Court who has explicitly embraced the reasoning of Lochner Era decisions striking down nationwide child labor laws and making similar attacks on federal power. Indeed, under the logic Thomas first laid out in a concurring opinion in United States v. Lopez, the federal minimum wage, overtime rules, anti-discrimination protections for workers, and even the national ban on whites-only lunch counters are all unconstitutional.

Though Thomas’s views are rare today, they have, sadly, not been the least bit uncommon during the Supreme Court’s history. He makes this list because, frankly, he should know better than his predecessors. As I explain in Injustices, many of the justices who resisted progressive legislation in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries were, like Field, motivated by ideology. Many others, however, were motivated by fear of the rapid changes state and federal lawmakers implemented in the wake of the even more rapid changes brought about by the Industrial Revolution. It was possible to believe, in a world where factories, railroads, and the laws required to regulate factories and railroads were all very new things, that these laws would, as Herbert Hoover once said about the New Deal, “destroy the very foundations of our American system” by extending “government into our economic and social life.”

But Thomas has the benefit of eighty years of American history that Hoover had not witnessed when he warned of an overreaching government. In that time, the Supreme Court largely abandoned the values embraced by Justice Field, and the United States became the mightiest nation in the history of politics and the wealthiest nation in the history of money.

So now how did Thomas go from normally quiet guy to all out asshole? Well it could have something to do with the fact that his wife Ginni is an ultra-right wing, extreme card carrying MAGA member who helped plan the January 6th insurrection. Now the Supreme Court has a far right problem that we won’t be able to get rid of in the short term. AM radio and Fox News talking points have seeped through every aspect of life now and they’re coming for the judiciary. Think things are bad now? Just wait until president Ron DeSantis wins!
Appearing on MSNBC's "Way Too Early" to discuss what Americans can expect from the next Supreme Court session in October after a series of conservative -- and highly controversial rulings -- Axios founder Mike Allen told host Jonathan Lemire that longtime Justice Clarence Thomas will be the effective leader of the court as Chief Justice is shunted to the side by the conservative majority.

Discussing a post-July 4th article at Axios that notes that the court with its five far-right justices who no longer need the more moderate Roberts vote will run roughshod over the executive branch, Allen explained that Thomas will have undue influence over the ruling due to his seniority.
* * *
"What's interesting about that, is, in addition to his obvious monumental tectonic effect on American law, he's also at the peak of his power inside the court," the Axios co-founder stated. "So Clarence Thomas is playing the long game. That is, if you take his opinions and his dissents together, they're not random points about particular cases."

"Over the years, he's formed what Sam Baker at Axios calls his own body of law; his own precedence," he continued. "Except it is one man, one justice speaking for himself. Here's an incredible fact in Sam Baker's story. That is, in the one person abortion comments that Thomas made, he cited 11 of his own precedents."

"Here's another quirk about his muscle inside the court," he elaborated. "The senior justice, the longest-serving justice on the winning side gets to assign the writing of the opinion. Thomas can assign -- if Chief Justice Roberts is not in the majority -- Clarence Thomas can assign it to himself, or he can assign it to whichever justice he thinks would most likely reflect his views but also keep the majority."

That doesn’t even begin to describe it! This guy is so toxic that even one of the biggest law schools in the entire country doesn’t want anything to do with him! So when the student body calls for him to be fired and the school doesn’t want to because having him on the payroll looks good to prospective candidates, what are they to do? It’s now no secret that Mr. Thomas wants to take the US into an extremely dark direction because of no other reason than “fuck you liberals”. And this could hopefully be the key to bringing him down. But it probably won’t and we’ll be stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

Because we steadfastly support the robust exchange of ideas and deliberation, and because debate is an essential part of our university’s academic and educational mission to train future leaders who are prepared to address the world’s most urgent problems, the university will neither terminate Justice Thomas’ employment nor cancel his class in response to his legal opinions.

Additionally, like all faculty members at our university, Justice Thomas has academic freedom and freedom of expression and inquiry. Our university’s academic freedom guidelines state: “The ideas of different faculty members and of various other members of the University community will often and quite naturally conflict. But it is not the proper role of the University to attempt to shield individuals within or outside the University from ideas and opinions they find unwelcome, disagreeable, or even deeply offensive.”

— An excerpt from an email sent by George Washington University Provost Christopher Bracey and law dean Dayna Bowen Matthew, in response to an online petition calling for Justice Clarence Thomas to be fired as an adjunct law professor in the wake of his concurrence in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which called for the Supreme Court to “reconsider” rights to contraception access, same-sex relationships, and same-sex marriage. Justice Thomas will not be fired and his class will not be canceled.

So embracing hard right ideals, telling the liberal side of the country to screw itself, and having a wife who probably helped plan the insurrection. That’s Clarence Thomas. This week’s:
