Perhaps now is the time for all patriotic Americans who own assault weapons to donate them to Ukrainian soldiers.

(1,292 posts)The NRA might try to target those that do and they'd love to take it to the Supreme Court now. But, they can say "no shirt, no shoes, no service" and restaurants can require a dress code, so they certainly should be able to say no guns. Even saloons in the wild west were allowed to ban guns.

(7,684 posts)where, when the President's wife (and sometimes the President) were there, the auditorium would have dozens of arms-carrying soldiers ringing the auditorium.
My Nicaraguan section-mate (educated in Indiana) teased me at first : "Aaaii, gringa! This is the third world. Get used to it."
I got used to it.
I LOVE the idea of giving weapons to Ukranian soldiers!

I'm not a fan of open carry in general. Legalized open carry of assault rifles is an abomination that I don't want to be anywhere near.

(17,252 posts)serve an early 20's guy who had a pistol strapped to his belt and knowing the doors had "No Guns Allowed"
signs asked the bartender if he had seen the pistol and replied with "He's OK he's in here all the time",
so I asked for a to-go box and left and never went back there.
Run into the owner several months later and found out "Chuck lasted less than 2 weeks when we found out
his gun loving buddy was open carrying, the jerk cost me a lot of business."
Chuck thought "No Guns Allowed" was meaningless but "No Shirt No Shoes No Service" needed to be
enforced. Probably a gun humper himself so he learned nothing getting fired.

That photo doesn't look like an American store, at least not one that I've ever seen.
Hard to tell really, but I don't assume this pic was taken in the US.
The only thing that looks "American" is the fact that the guy is wearing a baseball cap.

(4,690 posts)An organization, funded by donations, that sends out a postage paid box suitable for a specific gun to those who request it. The gun would be shipped back to the organization and then bundled up with other guns to be sent to Urkraine. There could be a list of specific guns wanted for Ukraine but any guns would be accepted. The guns not needed by Ukraine would be destroyed. I understand there are laws and policies of shippers like USPS, UPS and FedEx regarding the shipping of guns but hopefully there are ways it could be done legally.
