Need or want your tubes tied?

Someone put together a google doc of 150 gynecologists that will tie your tubes without asking if you have kids, your marital status and no matter your age. Its sorted into alphabetical order by state. https://t.co/5IGMN1GHNh

There are currently more than 1,200 doctors on the list.

So I've pretty much been distracted from my grief which I guess is a blessing of sorts. ❤

I decided I did not want children n talked w/ my doctor numerous times. Problems were..I was not married n needed permission for the procedure b/c I just turned 30. I finally was able to convince my dr I was serious n then came the permission part...I had to have paperwork notarized so I took it to my credit union as I knew the notary there. Finally! Procedure done on Friday n back to work on Monday. Never have regretted it. Still don’t.

They didn't ask any of those questions about marriage or kids. They asked my age and I spoke with a counselor for 5 minutes since I was young. Best $99 I ever spent. Of course I still had periods and really bad cramps but at least no need to worry about kids which I never wanted, even when I was 12 I knew parenthood was not for me.

My mom’s last was badly placed for weeks at the end of her pregnancy & her doc thought he’d have to do a C-section — the plan was do do a tubal ligation as long as she was opened up. But baby brother dropped into position at the last minute, so no C-section, and our dad had a vasectomy instead (1957). Her health was at issue and frankly we were not well off. She had been pregnant 7 times in 9 years for a total of 4 live kids.

What we have here in 2022 is an insane movement to force women to have babies regardless of their health or what they want or can afford. It’s a fricking emergency at this point, and if I were still under the Moon and sure my family was complete, I would have my tubes tied in a heartbeat.

I had two children exactly four years apart, one boy, one girl, both very planned and wanted, and I was done and knew it 100%. I am and always have been a very decisive person. My immediate ob gyn who delivered my children said he wouldn't do it because he was Catholic, so I said to him, "OK, then can you refer me to a doctor who isn't Catholic? I think he was a bit p.o.'ed. I found another doctor and he did it but I did have to have my husband's permission. That infuriated me to no end. I have never once regretted that decision.

… that Mom should call it quits, but the way he handled it was to say he had a colleague who would do the deed while he, Dr O, turned his back. Dr O was a GP, a good doctor, a kind man. But what a religion.

With the same restrictions they placed on abortion until they got to outlaw abortion entirely? Things like waiting periods, requiring the procedure be done in a hospital, forcing doctors to provide medical mis-information about the procedure, etc?
