NEW, high resolution image of the improvised firearm used in #Nara. Lots to note here, but among them is the wires near the back.

You also get a perfect look at the openings of the two pipe barrels.

This brings to mind that even if we can ban some firearms we're gonna be plagued with improvised weapons, especially 3d printed ghost guns

from a roof top with an improvised weapon like that. And I still dont think a 3d printed AR15 is possible at the moment and if so, it would be very inaccurate and dangerous to the shooter.

Just saying....

Some guys printed and safely fired an all-metal Colt 1911 pistol back in 2013, there's no reason why someone with a large enough printer couldn't run off whatever firearm their heart desired. The saving grace with all this is the cost of the printer, they're in the seven-figure range so Jim Bob and Cletus can't just roll on down to Home Depot and pick one up.

You're right that we'll never be able to eliminate guns and other weapons, especially in this country where we are awash with them.

But in addition to making it harder to get such weapons, our culture needs to shift to be one of making it known to be absolutely unacceptable to our society to have yahoos walking around with long guns just because they can. Or to carelessly be bringing guns into restaurants just because they can. Or to post pics of "your babies" (guns) on social media just because you can or to have senior pics and Christmas cards with guns just because you can.

I'm big on shunning and shaming at this point. They need to be rejected and humiliated not appeased with "well, it's their 2nd Amendment right." Everyone has a right to be a complete asshole but there need to be societal consequences.
