Follow the Committee if you want to follow the Committee. Getting someone's counts up has no impact whatsoever.

As has been frequently said, the Twitterverse is not the real world. Nobody who isn’t engaged in the Committee’s work will become so because of their Twitter count. Their winning their audience by actually revealing facts in their hearings.

than if they only see them by intentionally seeking them out.

The Jan 6 Committee wants as many people to read its posts as possible.

That’s my point. People need to want to follow what the Committee is doing.

Having more people follow the account, and retweet posts, and encourage others to follow, helps the Committee to get its message out.

It seems strange that anyone would want to disparage that.

(Also, you've got it backwards. Targeting a million followers is simply a way to encourage others to join.)

Somehow, miraculously, 664.1K people* are interested in what this account posts on Twitter..

* Well, OK, that number doubtless includes a couple of hundred bots, if you believe Elon Musk.

Ignore the haters.
