I think at this point any deal to get Brittany Griner will have to include Paul Whelan, his family is claiming Griner is getting special attention because she is a sports star while the Biden administration is in no rush to get Whelan out. Trevor Reed saying he was surprised Whelan wasn't released with him and that the President isn't doing enough to get Griner and Whelan released isn't helping either.
