Brett Kavanaugh chased from steakhouse by pro choice people

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10995259/Protesters-force-Supreme-Court-justice-Brett-Kavanaugh-sneak-DC-steakhouse.html

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is forced to escape D.C. steakhouse with his security detail after pro-choice protesters 'harassed' him during dinner and told the manager to throw him out

Kavanaugh was having dinner at Morton's when activists showed up and told the manager to kick him out, two weeks after he was in the majority that overturned Roe v. Wade.

The justice was then forced to leave through the back door, Politico's Playbook reported, as fury continues to spread across the country over the court's recent decisions on gun rights and abortion.

The protesters were gathered on a public sidewalk in front of Morton's. Kavanaugh was inside. At no time was his meal interrupted by the protesters. They did not chase him from Morton's. He decided on his own to leave early by way of the back door.

That doesn't get as many clicks, though.

Your “defending “ quote was also from politico

Wether he was bothered or not the restaurant themselves were upset, which to me means they are worried the protest would upset their hotytoty clients

So good job protesters!

Here's the article from Politico. The incident did not get top billing.

POLITICO Playbook: Schumer ups pressure on McConnell in USICA-reconciliation dance

By RYAN LIZZA and EUGENE DANIELS 07/08/2022 06:09 AM EDT

With help from Eli Okun and Garrett Ross

{snip}

“THE RIGHT … TO EAT DINNER”— On Wednesday night, D.C. protesters targeting the conservative Supreme Court justices who signed onto the Dobbs decision overturning the constitutional right to abortion got a tip that Justice BRETT KAVANAUGH was dining at Morton’s downtown D.C. location. Protesters soon showed up out front, called the manager to tell him to kick Kavanaugh out and later tweeted that the justice was forced to exit through the rear of the restaurant.

Daniel Lippman looked into the incident for us and confirmed that account.

While the court had no official comment on Kavanaugh’s behalf and a person familiar with the situation said he did not hear or see the protesters and ate a full meal but left before dessert, Morton’s was outraged about the incident. A rep for the chain steakhouse sent Lippman this statement:

“Honorable Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and all of our other patrons at the restaurant were unduly harassed by unruly protestors while eating dinner at our Morton’s restaurant. Politics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner. There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all of our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency.”

{snip}

The protesters did three things that Daniel Lippman confirmed:

• they showed up out front
• they called the manager
• they later tweeted

You can rely on the ShutDownDC tweet as as an accurate accounting of the event as much as you want.

The takeaway quote is "...a person familiar with the situation said [Kavanaugh] did not hear or see the protesters and ate a full meal but left before dessert...."

Of course it gets used a news source in LBN. I don't know why.

* Not really.

Back to your post. Right. That's all that happened. Protesters peaceably assembled in a public space. Kavanaugh and his party, if any, dined in peace. They left without dessert. End of story.

I hope you’re hounded into hiding because of your vote on this issue. And go right ahead and whine about your “freedom” being curtailed. Might make you understand at least to some extent how we women feel about OUR freedom being TAKEN AWAY now.

Not that I expect it will. I do expect he’s got a closed mind. I seriously doubt he’ll see the parallels here.

Seriously, after the past few months of listening to their USSC rulings, I think we can and should expect anything from that group of Fascist Pro-Corporate Tyrants...................

They want to drive us back to the "no regulations" Gilded Age and the guns of the Wild Wild West........

Putin must be way beyond gleeful at the way he has played Trump, U.S. Republican Senators, and the entire Republican Party.

It is amazing at how easily Putin has played Trump and the Republicans. Putin has completely up-ended and de-stabalized the U.S. Economy and Democracy without firing a single rocket or starting a war with the U.S.

If it happens that he dies of natural or natural causes (Many may hope sooner rather than later), I will not be attending the memorial service.

Once he's buried, I will gladly piss upon his grave figuratively at first, and then literally once I make it back to the states.

This applies to the other five as well - just sayin'.
