I'm not good at telling stories but I saw this on the news. There was a police officer killed in

the Detroit area yesterday by an escaping felon. The shooter had a high powered hand gun which is like the AR rifles? The gun was bought legally.

A gun store owner was interviewed, himself a cop, said that the gun was legally in the hands of the felon and gun stores had a right to sell the guns. (this particular shop didn't sell the gun in question)

Which is true, but a fellow officer was shot by this gun and the seller is still selling this type of gun. It seems to me that, if it were me, I would have to give another thought to selling these guns. After all they are only meant to shoot people. That is the only reason for having them.

So cops are selling the guns to people who might shoot them or fellow officers? It just boggles my mind.

Of course the gun seller makes Money and Money trumps all.

Just that a police officer owning a business selling guns that are only for shooting people , fellow police in this case doesn't make sense to me. I understand hunting guns or target shooting guns but killing people only guns................. no sense for a police officer.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

What type of gun is never used to shoot people?

We will need to repeal and/or repeal + replace the second amendment if we want impactful gun bans.

who their "friends" and "enemies" are.

In the past, maybe armed criminals were job security, and maybe even empire building. Being only slightly more armed than "dangerous" moms and kids protesting cuts in school lunches, and black folks brandishing sandwiches, they weren't so hard to deal with. The cops outgunned them.

Now that more folks are armed with assault rifles, the job got a whole lot more dangerous. And maybe rampant assault weapons might not be an idea worth coddling.

the cop was interviewed in his gun shop. I thought , how odd that he would not say something against the gun at all. Or even say, don't shoot people with the guns. ??

Mayor Duggan and Chief White were saying that this sort of killing had to stop but the store owner had nothing to s ay about that.

I guess .. he just sells them. After that it has nothing to do with him. Just a shame.

Ironic how he chose that verb back in 2014.
