... the web has to offer news wise? Where I'll see stuff from the far right along with the far left? I want to know what's out there. I don't want to see just stuff that I tend to agree with.

(15,314 posts)So I've begun my search:
https://text.npr.org/ - it is NPR so I can't speak to impartiality. Personally I think they do a damn good job.
https://newsasfacts.com/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Current_events
https://www.csmonitor.com/layout/set/text/textedition
https://www.corbettreport.com/ ? Not sure how broad a sprectrum
This was one of my sources:
https://greycoder.com/a-list-of-text-only-new-sites/
but it lists several obviously very biased sources.
My reasons for looking for more concise sites are because I don't want any distracting images - not because of bandwidth.

I think many sites (The Guardian) also supply more "just the facts" but they're hard to dig out.
Google news used to be really good. Now every article has eye candy that takes up the room of a halfway decent abstract.
My favorite way to get these are via RSS feeds. Find sites you think are useful and subscribe. I use Inoreader but there are many other options.
