Trump was a criminal before he came to the White House.

Some believe he ran for the White House to escape responsibility for his other crimes. Also, he saw financial opportunity. He saw it as a way to grift and make huge sums of money.

Those that now say the country cannot withstand a prosecution of Trump are also saying that the country could not have stood a prosecution of Trump before he stole the presidency.

Justice is the only leg our democracy has left to stand on.

Either we use it, or we call in the dogs, piss on the fire, and go home.

He run for POTUS in order to secure his own immunity, and he also packed the judiciary with ultra-rightwing judges! If Chump ever does go to trial for any of his crimes, he'll probably get a judge that's beholden to him. He'll be investigated by federal agents that were appointed by him and loyal to him.

Not only that - we'll never know if he wrote himself a "pocket pardon" that exonerates him from everything. I just learned from a DU post last week, that he could have done that for himself and his family. Those secret pardons have never been publicized but they would still be in effect even now.

Kentuck. Dang autocorrect, thought I had that accursed thing turned off. Sorry, buddy.

Had an eye on tRump since the 70s. It was obvious he was a villain, even way back then.

He said it was well known that Trump was mobbed up. He cited specifics. I thought "surely news reporters will jump on this and the candidacy will be over." To my surprise, virtually no investigation or followup of these serious claims.

Of course, I thought also that the idea of Trump winning was a joke even if the media failed to expose his criminal past, and that Americans would never be so idiotic as to vote him in.

Wow, was I wrong, wrong, wrong--on every count. Boy, was I naive.

He also sued David Cay Johnson to shut him up, and lost. Sad to say, The apple pie/4th of July most of us want to belie eexists is as real as "Happy Days." And apparently, living up to those ideals was just too much to ask of way too many.

I live about 50 miles north of NYC, and am well acquainted with his grifts and shady deals.
Each time he got away with something, he got bolder and more sure that he would never be held accountable. His ego led him to the precipice he now stands on.
It's time he faced justice.

we are living under the TYRANNY of a corrupt sc. It is time to do something or give up. He was a criminal for many years, and paid off everyone, as did his father who dealt with the mob as well. He had to be paying off people in the IRS as well. Justice does not apply to wealthy people for the most part, especially the likes of that POS. Could not have withstood it, BS. They are all protecting each other and always have.

Let's face it, this is a country of wealthy crooks, and plenty of little crooks too who like it that way, who run the show and it always has been just that. Wealthy crooks, fascists, religious crazies and plain ******* nutcases.

..we continue to hold out hope that on rare occasions, such as with Watergate's henchmen, Bernie Madoff, Michael Milliken, and other rare moments of history, some of them are held to account. Will this be one of those times?

Much will depend how much those "others" feel threatened if no justice is applied. The bottom line is that they always protect themselves.

We knew of him all too well from his years of shady business deals, rip-offs, and cruelty, all widely reported on the local news broadcasts. Outside the region, readers/viewers were fed the tRump pablum and they believed what they saw. Thanks, Mark Burnett for thrusting him upon the nation with that damn The Apprentice.
