I would like to see an in depth report that states, "The head of blahblahblah georgia utilities was told by the head of yadayadaunion that they cannot work in New Jersey".
Seriously folks, I'm a carpenter in Florida and if I were to go to New Jersey they'd kick my ass in jail and fine me for not being licenced there.

(33,956 posts)There are ALWAYS staging areas in these disasters that out of town nurses, workers, etc go to and the crews are informed to find these areas and report and be prepared to be dispatched to where they are needed. They do NOT just find a crew and say "I'm here"...that just isn't done.
It would be chaos.

(11,589 posts)Rest assured, our Alabama Power crews have not been turned away from anywhere. Our employees are proudly representing us in several states that have been affected, and have received a warm reception everywhere they've been.
NOT TRUE.
