Brothers, ages 10 and 14, surrender in deadly beating of man with traffic cone in Philadelphia

James Lambert, 73, died last month after a group of people said to be in their early to mid-teens allegedly assaulted him.

Two brothers, 10 and 14 years old, surrendered to police Monday in the fatal beating of a 73-year-old man with a traffic cone in Philadelphia, authorities said.

The brothers, who weren't identified, have not yet been charged in the June 24 killing of James Lambert, Philadelphia police spokeswoman Tanya Litter said in a statement.
Their alleged involvement in the assault wasn't immediately clear.

Authorities released security video last week showing a group of people who appeared to be in their early to mid-teens assaulting Lambert with the cone.

In the video, what appears to be a teenage boy and girl can be seen hurling a traffic cone at Lambert three times. Several others can be seen watching the incident.

Those are just two that have admitted they were there.

Looked to be at least 6 or so.

Lambert had had a hard life but overcome lots of obstacles and was so loved by his family. The family spoke about him he sounded like a nice guy. They said he a loved to be nicely dressed and well groomed, he was known for his gentlemanly ways. So awful thinking about thug delinquents beating and treating him that way and killing him. I hope they catch them all and hold their parents accountable too.

The parents are part of the problem.

14-Year-Old Boy To Be Charged With 3rd-Degree Murder In Connection To Fatal Beating Of 73-Year-Old Man: Sources
The attack happened around 2:30 a.m. just a week before the city’s curfew ordinance, prompting questions about their parents’ responsibility.

If you're allowing kids under 16 to run the street unsupervised at 2:30 AM, you really shouldn't have children at all.

Like a pack of jackals. Killing for the sake of watching someone die? And there's a girl helping the young men do it.

I know I sound ancient, but what the hell is wrong with kids these days? Seems that many have no moral grounding at all, and I don't mean religion.
