Seriously question: Are the J6 hearings getting through to the country?

They seem to be going amazingly well. Maybe one of the best congressional hearings ever, certainly since Watergate. Way better, in my view, than Iran-Contra. I'd bet most engaged people see them similarly.

My question is about the people who largely are NOT engaged. Is any of this getting through? What do you think?

the know-nothings will face ridicule for their willful ignorance from people who ordinarily wouldn’t follow political issues. It’s becoming ‘cool’ to have even a casual acquaintance with 1/6 Committee proceedings.

Those who only watch Faux Snooze and not even much of that are not swayed because they aren't hearing much of the truth. They have their eyes and ears firmly closed, singing lalalala. However, Independents and people who knew drumpf was bad but had no clue how bad, are paying attention. Why do you think there is this sudden surge of rw'ers wanting to give live testimony? They are desperate to disrupt the narrative which they know is getting through. If there were no movement, drumpf wouldn't be encouraging LIVE testimony. They are scared!

I mean, it would be nice but we really need to convert the so-called moderates and independents. I think we’re succeeding.

There hasn't been much movement in the polls - and what movement their has been could arguably be more Dobbs-related than J6.

In polls where trump goes head to head, boden leads and harris is neck and neck.

So tfg isn't showing the support he had before the 2020 election.

The fact that harris is even, a woman of color, with all the crap tossed on her, is telling.

Tfg just doesn't have the backing he did.

There was one good poll on that question in the NYTimes yesterday (a poll that was otherwise awful), but the overwhelming majority of Biden v. Trump polls released over the last few months show Trump in the lead.

So tfg isn't showing the support he had before the 2020 election.

Again - I'm confused where you're seeing this. There were only a couple of national polls before the 2020 election that even showed him up by a single point. TFG's polls on independent questions (should he run?, etc) are down (though I don't see much change during the hearings), but he isn't down in the head-to-head.

Most people don’t pay attention to politics until right before it’s time to vote. Besides, they’re busy earning enough to try and pay $100 for the same bag of groceries that a little over a year ago cost $60, so they’re a little distracted.
