Steve Bannon Has a Very Bad Day in Court

Steve Bannon just had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day in court.

A Trump-appointed federal judge at a pretrial hearing on Monday denied Bannon’s request to delay proceedings in his criminal contempt case, which is set to begin next Monday. The ruling came despite the ex-Trump adviser’s sudden willingness to testify before the House Jan. 6 committee, an about-face triggered by a Saturday letter from the former president himself, waiving the executive privilege that had supposedly muzzled Bannon.

But that’s not all U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols did at the hearing. He also tore to pieces a number of defenses that Bannon’s team had been seeking to use, declaring them irrelevant to Bannon’s case in remarks that lasted nearly an hour, according to Politico.

The onetime White House chief strategist flouted the subpoena the Jan. 6 panel issued him last September, which would have compelled him to answer their questions. Less than three weeks after the Oct. 16 deadline to appear, he was indicted on two counts of criminal contempt of Congress, each of which carries a maximum sentence of up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Due process is the reason criminals go to court. God bless America.

SO, he possibly will feel pretty down...in a $10,000 per month country club prison (we are paying for! Bit of irony there, eh?). Hell, he might not even get into a doubles match with Meadows, Gaetz, Gosar or whomever!

Visitors, catered food, Netflix, spa treatment, conjugal visits...

Yeah could be tough couple of years.

He only worked at the White House for less than 7 months. He was either fired or quit in August of 2017. After that he left the country for almost 3 years! Remember that crazy right-wing nastiness in Italy?

In spite of all that, he still managed to receive executive clemency (pardon) on the last day of Chump's term. Why did he need a pardon? He'd been stealing from the tax-exempt public "charity," which was actually a scam, called We Build The Wall.

So the pardon had nothing to do with January 6th. Bannon hadn't worked for Chump for almost 5 years, but he was somehow claiming to have executive privilege anyway. That's what gave him the right to refuse to answer the subpoena. It was all bullshit from the get-go, and Chump's letter meant nothing. This guy has no defense.

Lock. Him. Up.

....."lifted" his so-called "executive privilege", freeing Bannon to testify. I don't get it.
